Is John Cena vs. Jeff Hardy a big money match?

Here me out, when Jeff Hardy left he was one of the most over guys on the roster, and I don't care you who you are, no one is a draw in TNA.

Jeff and John for the most part have stayed clear of each other, it's hard enough finding the one match they did have on YouTube.

Jeff has never been a great talker, but he's great at getting over, so, I don't see him having a problem getting over.

John's Wrestlemania slots are probably filled for the next two or 3 years. With any combination of The Rock, Punk, Taker or Ryback.

But I could see his Summerslams being wide open. Preferably, a face vs face contest would be ideal. For anyone who doubts the drawing ability of these matches Wrestlemania 6, 23, and 28 all were face vs face contest, but we've seen Jeff play a heel role surprisingly well.

Match wise, I don't expect a classic, but I expect it to be surprisingly good. John has the ability to work well with wrestlers of all styles. Jeff's a veteran who in his short tenure as a main eventer has pulled off some very thrilling contest (I'm talking about 08-09).

Jeff's TNA contract expires soon, and he's probably closer to the end of his career than the beginning. He's probably looking to cash in on his last run, and even for his brother's sake, Matt's only getting hired as a package deal with Jeff, and I'm sure he knows that.

Re: Is John Cena vs. Jeff Hardy a big money match?

I think it could have been if Jeff had won the WWE Title from HHH at WrestleMania 25 and keep a strong push as a top face while staying clean and out of trouble. Heel Cena vs. Mega over face Hardy is a big money match and something I would have liked to have seen. I don't know if WWE could recreate the magic they had with Jeff in 2008-2009 when he was the most over babyface in the company imo, but if he return I guess they could give it a shot. Vince & co. may have reservations about pushing Jeff so strongly as last time when even back in his last run they were pretty careful to not fully give him the ball.

Heel Cena vs. Jeff Hardy could have been huge but I doubt Hardy would get back to that level if he is to return.

If Jeff comes back to the same level that he was received upon leaving in 2009, then I'll side with this being a yes. I don't like to talk about the prospects of drawing, money, or ratings, but for the sake of this I'll claim it to be a BIG match that the WWE could give fans if they have the chance. Don't know about any potential Cena heel turn coming through via this. I wouldn't object. If Cena didn't go heel for Rocky, well I'm sold that he won't for anyone.

True. Who the hell knows if he'll ever go heel? He probably will once he's removed as the poster boy of the company. Like in his 40s probably to use the turn as a way to 're-invent' himself. Oh well, Cena vs. Hardy face vs. face has potential to be big if Jeff got over huge again with the WWE. That is to say IF he ever decided to return to WWE.

100% feel he won't till it comes to a point where you stated. Sort of like Hogan in '96, almost. He'll have to change to remain fresh on some levels. As of right now...he's probably gonna stay face as long as he is THE face (of the company).

All speculation of course. Jeff could have no desire to return to the WWE.

Inb4 Pyro shits on Hardy.

If Hardy could return to the level of popularity he left on and Cena would finally turn heel, I would get behind it. Could be a great RTWM build-up whether for the WWE title or not. Not too many big money matches left and this could be pretty huge IMO.

With wwe really lacking in fans investing in some of the newer guys a big star and familiar face like hardy would be huge. It would be a big match indeed
