Default Wrestler Years 15: Rey Mysterio

Time for another Wrestler Years thread. What's your favorite year(s) of Rey Mysterio?

P.S Only going as far back as WCW.

For me, my favorite time for Rey was when he was in the Filthy Animals. I was never really a fan of his but that time stood out for me, when he was ok to watch. Him alongside Konnan, Billy Kidman and Eddie Guerrero were good to watch at the time.

All of them Best WWE performer of the last 10 years, IMO, and definitely in the top five best in the world since the turn of the millennium. I couldn't choose.

His ECW stuff is awesome, i'll never forget his 2 outta 3 falls stuff with Psychosis, absolutely awesome and violent, his match with Eddie at Havoc is still probably on the top of my lists related to anything wrestling, and i still love it when he won the World title,
even on a fucked up knee he can still entertain better than 90% of the roster..

one of The Greatest Wrestlers the world has ever seen and i wouldnt even question this..

Back in ECW i remember he actually had holograms covering his eyes it looked fucken crazy, this [i believe so im not sure] is when Rey used to take the opponent into the audience and he'd leap into the Audience right on top of the guy, the crowd used to hand him chairs he'd take em and smash away on opponents, give the middle finger to opponents and everything it was great stuff..he was so agile back then a great addition to a already hardcore programming..

Thank you LC

I think Rey's most memorable years were after Eddie's passing (R.I.P). Yes that was a major factor in his push and career, but you can't that he failed at it.
He went to become one of the most recognized guys in the business, and was severely talked about during his golden years in 2006~2008.

On a secondary note, I don't want to sound like a negative douche, but I think it's time for him to lace up his boots. Or at least after a last Mania' match with Sin Cara or something, he's too injury prone right now and kinda lost his touch a bit even though he is still a great performer, and I think it's the best thing to do before he ends up with a serious injury forcing his career to end in a bad way.

Thank you, that we will..here is a moment i still have trouble watching, i remember when Bischoff made Mysterio unmask and he didnt want too[back stage bullshit], he told Eddie and Eddie pretty much said lets go fuck him up lmfao, he ended up unmasking, even though Nash does like Rey [in real life] i still hate this moment, i remember watching this live and man it was tough, it wouldnt surprise me if Reys reaction was legit here..

vs. Eddie Halloween Havoc 1997
vs. Psichosis and Billy Kidman in WCW. I can't remember the PPV
w/ Edge vs. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle No Mercy 2003
w/ Edge vs. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle 2/3 Falls Smackdown 2003
w/ Edge vs. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle vs. Chavo Guerrero and Eddie Guerrero Survivor Series 2003
vs. Chavo Guerrero Great American Bash 2004
vs. Eddie Smackdown 23/6/05
vs. Eddie Great American Bash 2005
Royal Rumble 2006
vs. Orton No Way Out 2006
vs. Orton Smackdown 2006 (I don't have the precise date)

All of these were before his great series with Jericho. All of his Elimination Chamber appearances, which tend to be will rememberd. His matches with CM Punk which includes one of the best 6 minute matches I'll ever see. Not including any ECW stuff or his stuff from Mexico because I haven't seen it. As well as the majority of his WCW run because I'm unfamiliar with his time there and the matches I've listed are only there because they're the only WCW matches of his I've watched. Also remember he was on television almost every week from 2002-2006 so I've missed plenty of television matches. Also remember he was injured for a lot of 06-08 so there was a lot of missed time there.

Stop being a troll.

Edit: I started this list over half an hour ago but got sidetracked. Hence why it's late, so i can't prove my point to that idiot. But this post still backs up my earlier post about him being one of the best ever. I'd put him in my top 10 GOAT, tbh.
