Unbelievable how so many of you are condemming Cena, whatever happened to there are two sides of the story?
Michael Tarver - He sounded like he was off his meds but nonetheless his story does add up. IF it's true maybe Cena wanted to bring him down a notch or maybe it's slightly exaggerated or maybe it really is true. Anyhow this is 1 sided.
Kenny Dystrik - Who? The mighty leader of the Spirit Squad decides to have confession time on Twitter & that's it, he's a Prophet?
Tyler Reks - Who...? No seriously who?
Alex Riley - Oh boy this is good, and pardon me for using Bleacher Report as a source but it does add up:
Reports suggest that a backstage altercation with John Cena had something to do with it, but other factors lead me to believe otherwise.
According to PWInsider.com, Cena was joking around and making run of Riley backstage in front of some other wrestlers last year. Riley reportedly reacted in a hostile way, which was viewed as a breaking of the code between wrestlers. This, in turn, is believed to have pushed him down the card and led to his jobber status.
Riley was at his high point in terms of popularity last May after he turned face and feuded with his former mentor, The Miz. There is no doubt that he was red hot, as he was involved in some tag matches with Cena as his partner and was put over Miz, who was coming off a WWE Championship reign, on a couple of occasions.
I think we all agree with that, moving on:
It then looked like Riley might win the United States Championship as he entered into a feud with Dolph Ziggler. He was involved in a Fatal Four Way match at Night of Champions for the title, and while he didn't come out on top, he still figured to have a bright future.
More agreement, let's further move on:
Not long after that, Riley essentially disappeared from WWE programming and has been utilized sporadically ever since.
This is where it gets interesting:
While dirt sheets would have you believe that was a direct result of an altercation with Cena, he actually suffered a hip injury in October of last year that kept him out for quite some time. It limited him in the ring, and probably led to him being phased out from a feud with Ziggler.
In addition to that, sloppy in-ring work most likely contributed to his demotion. It was clear that Riley was too green as a wrestler ever since his NXT debut, and there were plenty examples of it. Riley accidentally eliminated himself from the 2011 Royal Rumble, which led to a change in the way Cena was eliminated from the match.
Riley still got his push well after that, but it was part of the case built against him. Riley's most egregious error came in the midst of his push against Jack Swagger on an episode of RAW. Swagger lifted him and attempted his signature gutwrench powerbomb, but Riley sandbagged him and Swagger had to struggle in order to get him up.
What I find the most the hilarious is people either choose to overlook the fact or maybe didn't see the part where the locker room veterans got upset with Riley when he acted out the way he did when Cena ribbed him. Which from my understanding is something that has been done in wrestling for years as well as something to form bonding & camaraderie even if it sounds corny lol.
But whatever if you had a problem with Cena before this is even more ammo, if you wanted to see a problem arise with Cena now is your chance to pile on him. People who are looking at this neutral are the winners in this, but sadly there aren't that many of them.
