Why is Jericho not on this list? He was on another level to everybody in 09. From your list it's Punk easily.

Seriously though, fucking Tensai is mentioned but not Jericho? WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Orton in 2009 was great, only thing that wasn't great was what happened with WWE title in his feud with HHH. Orton loses at WM for some reason, then wins it in a random rematch, then HHH gets injured, then HHH comes back, then Batista wins the title, then Orton gets it back, then loses it. All within a few month timespan.

2009 Orton was one that punted Vince McMahon. RKOed Steph. And so many other things during that McMahon feud.

Punk? Nah, good heel but not the best in the last four years. Gotta be a tie between:

and

If I had to choose though I'm going with DC Dave.

Voted for Orton. Punk's run was enjoyable too but orton had the best sadistic character imo.

CM Punk in the Straight Edge Society. Absolutely brilliant. Just wish I saw it when it happened.

Flatley my dear, I don't Riverdance.

Cm punk easily in all of his personas, SES was the best, but Nexus leader and current "respect whinning champion" are great too

^this, is tied heavily closed between punk and jericho for best recent heels, but I think the OP didn't include jericho because he isn't a current full timer

orton was great too as a psychopatic sadistic heel, but Cm punk mic work in SES was too damn good, to the point people really and seriously bought into his character (the old lady yelling at punk incident comes to mind), that's some nuclear visceral Heat right there, same way Jericho's incident with the girl who punched him
