Re: Best Tag Team thats not a Tag Team
Alex Riley & Zack Ryder - Similar names. Similar looks. Similar backgrounds in being two underutilized superstars who developed a cult following among casuals and IWC alike. They could call each other "A-Ry" and "Z-Ry". Their theme songs have some potential to be mixed into something (think Chris Jericho & Big Show). I'd just give them a matching color scheme but otherwise let them keep their individual personas.
Ezekiel Jackson & Mason Ryan - Two powerhouses who have little upside as singles stars. They can dominate the tag ranks, but are still big and powerful enough to put people over in singles matches.
John Cena & Randy Orton - A modern day Mega Powers type of team. They would wear matching colors (Cena would switch to trunks, but keep all of his wristbands, t-shirts, hats, etc.). Their breakup down the line can be the big Hollywood Hogan-style turn for Cena that everyone wants so badly, or the Orton heel turn that he wants so badly.
Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez - Since these two are together anyway, put Ricardo in the ring and book him as a more credible wrestler. Ricardo would always come out first, to his own entrance theme, and bully the ring announcer around a bit. Ricardo would have a personalized microphone to introduce himself in a loud Mr. Kennedy/Anderson fashion before proceeding into the usual Del Rio introduction.
