The things some people think of to justify their dislike. Getting paid for charity work. My word, that's the answer.

Default John Cena helps present a wheelchair to a boy with cerebral palsy

http://www.baynews9.com/content/news...w_motoriz.html

"The Darrell Gwynn Foundation donated the $32,000 custom wheelchair that allows Gary to be in control. The wheelchair was decorated with some of his favorite things, including World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John Cena.

But little did Gary know, a surprise was waiting for him in his school's cafeteria. Gary thought he was just going to thank those who gave him his wheelchair, but instead, he was greeted by Cena himself.

Gary's teacher, Jillian Kornick, played a huge role in getting Cena to show up. She said all of the hard work was worth it when she saw the surprise on Gary's face.

"It means everything to him," she said. "He's worked so hard to practice at this chair. It's very difficult to drive, and he's done everything, and that was the one thing he asked, if I could get him, was John Cena."

Cena is no stranger to giving back. He said that when he found out about Gary's story, he wanted to meet him.

"Moments like these are special," he said. "I try and do as much charity work as I can, and unfortunately I can't be everywhere, but this came about through a good friend of mine and I knew it would be a fantastic day. Like you said, when you see the look on Gary's face, it makes it all worthwhile."

Those who know Gary said he's a champion for not giving up, despite what he's going through.

"He's going to continue to be happy," Kornick said. "And this is the best day of his life."

Probably just another "Cena's a nice guy" thread, but it made be d'aww when I saw it :3

Fun Fact, btw: Cena was on Raw in Columbus, Ohio this Monday. If this happened on Tuesday, that means he took a little 800 mile detour to show up for this out in the middle of nowhere in Florida, before heading back up north in order to prepare for Survivor Series in Indianapolis this Sunday.

If I was Cena, I'd love making those kids happy, so much so that I wouldn't want to ever turn heel. Even though he gets a whole lot of hate from us, seeing their smiles must make him think "this is what it's all about!"

WHY DO YOU KEEP POSTING THESE SWEET JOHN CENA STORIES THAT MAKE ME MIST UP. THERE IS A KLEENEX SHORTAGE ON.

Seriously. The man can stay a face as long has he wants. He can do whatever he wants.

Just as long as he NEVER. EVER. raps again.

This one wasnt even an official appearance, the charity had nothing go do with WWE. Not to mention it would be absolutely ridiculous for stars to get paid to make CHARITY appearances for such places as the make a wish foundation

could you say the WWE used the Susan G komen foundation, make a wish and be a star for selfish reasons? yes, but the INDIVIDUAL effort thats unrelated to his high paying career by John for charity organisations not to mention sick kids. it just boggles the mind that you can think someone would be deranged enough to get paid for this sort of stuff. what sort of human being are you?

But i suppose some people have to diminish the hard work and charity of others to make themselves feel better
If you don't think John Cena gets paid a fee, whether that be a set fee or a fee per appearance, to make all these charity appearances (whilst dressed in full WWE branded gear, as he is whenever you see him) to make the WWE and it's "top" face look good, then you're naive as they come.

Yes, fair play to him for doing it all either way and it's great that he does, but make no mistake he is well paid for it.
