Re: WWE has failed at..
There barely are any storylines to begin with! Outside of the main event the storylines are either wafer thin or utterly dull.

Re: WWE has failed at..
The E is incredibly formulaic now with their booking and characters. And while the biggest problem technically is the booking & story telling failures, to me the product just isn't as fun as it used to be.
I'm not even talking compared to the attitude era, I mean compared to the New Generation era. The matches are all punch, kick, repeat until finish, there's no wrestling anymore. No wrist locks, no head locks, no body slams. Vertical suplexes etc those were the small nuances that help push a match forward and for kids they just fuckin look cool.
I'm glad it hasn't gotten to 1994-1995 levels of bad where we had midgets and assorted fuckery regularly but at least the matches being worked got the crowd into them. These muhfuckas today can't even entertain within the ropes, let alone on the mic. WWE needs to cut loose and let these guys work!

Re: WWE has failed at..
Resoundingly.
Even last year's build toward Survivor Series, which left me completely underwhelmed, letdown and cold, wasn't close to this uninspired to me. I still haven't seen this week's Raw. I'm not sure if I will or if I won't.
There's just no excitement or intrigue. It's depressingly poor right now.
One can hope that once they move beyond Survivor Series, things will pick up. It seems so bleak and woefully inert at the moment, however.

Don't know about others but Cm Punk's title reign is keeping me hooked. I also find Ryback and Ziggler's rise to the top interesting. I do kinda look forward to the show everyweek. The worst was the Over The Limit/No Way out period this year where Cena/Laurnaitis were feuding and Punk/Bryan had a very goofy/passable feud.

I disagree. If there's anything in WWE that has improved as of late, it is the wrestling. They are giving matches more time then they have in the last few years, and specially the main event match quality has been much better.

Re: WWE has failed at..
It sucks how much WWE sucks at storytelling, when they're PG. PG shows are alot about storytelling. Especially if WWE wants to get younger audience to tune in as well.
Watching WWE stuff from 10 or so years ago, it's sad how much more "modern" they seem than WWE of today. Music, graphics, video packages and all that.
I watched just a WWE video package for a feud that happened probably in 2004,and while I forgot about what happened in that feud, the video package itself had me interested in the match so much lol. And it wasn't like some Wrestlemania or Summerslam main event match, it was a match in the middle of a card, for no titles.

Its a real shame that the matches of today mean absolutely nothing.
Also not sure what main events you've been watching because aside from Lesnar and Trips they've sucked lately.

I agree things need to change but that's always been the case when things become stale. I can't even get mad at this topic cause its understandable but I don't think wwe is dieing and fans will be replaced

I think the declining ratings and overall number of people who watch wrestling would disagree with you.

Re: WWE has failed at..
It's a shit product all around. There is absolutely NOTHING to look forward to until The Rock/Brock Lesnar both return. If they continue at this downward spiral, they have maybe 10-15 years maximum left in them.

I think everyone is waiting to see what happens once they will no longer be able to rely on AE stars.
How are they going to be able to sufficiently sell and execute a modern day Wrestlemania without the help of Rock, Austin, Taker, Brock, HHH, Jericho, HBK, Angle, Sting, Batista?
The only thing they can do is either create stars that are as big of draws as the names listed above, OR, scale down Wrestlemania to the size of the mid 90s.
