Re: Was Eddie Guerrero a legit WWE Champion?
I remember hearing a podcast from Konnan and he said Eddie was 1 of 3 guys (the other 2 being HBK & Ultimate Warrior) who would flip out on Vince if they didn't like something and Vince would go out of his way to please him. Obviously, he saw something in Eddie that he should have seen beforehand.
The thing that stands out most to me is his road to redemption. Gets fired by WWE, nearly dies in a car accident, works the indy scene to build up his reputation to what it was and regain the trust of Vince. If anything, Vince pushed him for his hardwork, on top of replacing Lesnar was champion. It just so happened to work.
Don't understand how anybody could shit on him because of his size. Regardless, I honestly feel he was more legit than Benoit and in regards to my previous post, I'm not saying Eddie wasn't legit and I should clarify. I feel some people don't see him as a legit champion, mostly because of his size and how he got the title in the first place. Eventhough, he was on another planet than Miz, Alberto Del Rio and even CM Punk.
