The bitter fight for Connecticut's open Senate seat has been won by the Democratic candidate, Representative Chris Murphy. He saw off wrestling executive Linda McMahon, who spent tens of millions of her own money in her second failed run. Murphy replaces retiring Senator Joe Lieberman, an independent.
