Re: Commentary cliches?

every single RKO "is out of nowhere" 280 plus pounders are always monsters
the latest hell in a cell match is the most brutal ever and the commentators are always seeing things for the first time even though we have all seen it many times before

on a side not, reading through the previous posts all the JR catchphrases are awesome they may be cliche but are fucking gold, JR really is the all time best

Lately what has been driving me completely insane is when cole says this ladies an gentlemen is (wrestlers name).
it bugs the shit out of me and frankly makes think current fans have the attention spans of gnats and cannot remember who a wrestler is and their backstory.

Everything Orton does is "vintage". No, "vintage" orton would be the overdrive or whatever the hell it was called and his standing dropkick. His off the ropes DDT and snap slam are not vintage.

I like Cole as a person a lot, but as a commentor I don't share the same feelings towards him..

Re: Commentary cliches?

I don't know why but anything J.R says doesn't get old to me.
Just doesn't.

As for cliches, someone already mentioned Cole not knowing the move unless it's a WWE created move.

Reminds me when Cole and Lawler made fun of Striker for knowing what Cattle Mutilation was.
Pissed me off to no end.

Lawler trying to spin things for the face as if we're stupid as well has become a cliche it seems.
