John Morrison actually can wrestle. He definitely gets the spot monkey label a lot, but he has put on plenty of great matches that were low or near nonexistent on spots. I just see him as a guy with a flashy, athletic moveset. He does spots in gimmicky matches, but those types of matches call for it.

And if a "spotmonkey" can keep the crowd entertained then who cares? I'll take a guy who can show me something I've never seen before than a technician who puts my ass to sleep with nothing but submission holds, headlocks, and never tries to go high risk or do anything exciting. Shit, if that's what wrestling in 2012 is supposed to be, then no thank you.

As for the poll, I am unsure of who the "best" spotmonkey is. I will say Jeff Hardy's career has been built off of doing spots and the crowd loves him for it. I don't see this as a bad thing. He could improve on his ring ability overall, but he does his job in entertaining people. The guy is TNA's top dog after all.

I voted Pac, although I think OP should have mentioned if spotmonkey = derogatory term for highflyers or if he generally thought spotmonkey = highflyer.

It's Jeff Hardy. I don't see why Shane is so far up there when he's only had like 3 big spots. Actually, just 2-3 big ones I can remember, but I'm assuming people are including the "coast to coast" move which he's done a few times.

Hardy's had dozens of big and far more dangerous spots. . .Foley's had more big spots than Shane too.

Pac and Ricochet are most definitely spot monkeys. Very little of their stuff looks believable. It looks choreographed and fake. Not impressed.

I will agree Jeff Hardy has been known to be a spot monkey. But if you seriously think he can't wrestle/work/structure a match get your head out of your ass. Jeff is damned talented and over the years has disproved your claims. Even today in TNA he's making you eat your words
