I actually like Ryback as well but seeing him get too much so soon, and seeing his ring ability exposed last night has dropped his stock with me. I really do wish something would happen soon to usher in HHH as the new Chairman, and I would like Heyman to have more input on creative, but I really believe all of that is a pipe dream and I fear for WWE as a result.
Ah, that's understandable. And I know you're a fan of Punk and Heyman, but just not the current direction they're taking with them atm? I know they could do more, they could be better, but I'm very much enjoying them regardless. They're a highlight of RAW every week for me.

I think WWE are striking the iron when it's hot with Ryback. At first he was just filler because Cena was injured, but with how over he's got in this feud with Punk I think they're seeing the potential in him and are capitalizing on that now, it's the smart thing to do.

I didn't think their Hell in a Cell match was that bad tbh, just the finish put a damper on things for me.

They should've elevated Daniel Bryan instead of sacrificing and marginalizing him to be a vehicle to push the likes of "Linda McMahon's campaign figurehead" AJ and "Let's book him like Hunter" Sheamus.
Now he's just a guy on the roster who loses all the time that no one takes seriously and they just had to resort to pushing RYBACK as the WWE equivalent of The Renegade.

I do have one question for anyone who might feel that Dwayne Johnson "owes" the business. Is it just him, or is it anyone who moved on to other things? Should Luna Vachon get heat for running a towing company instead of working on RAW? Should Maven be critiqued on his Home Shopping Network bits instead of wrestling?

Or is it only the ones who go on to highly visible careers in movies that owe something? Why do Johnson (who left after putting people over, doing the traditionally "right thing") and Lesnar (who did not; except for making Eddie a legitimate star) get called sell-outs who "forgot where they came from" when someone who retires to do some regular job get credit (as they should) for moving on and making it without falling into a sea of addiction?

Bad enough to where the possible return of a 63 year old Ric Flair is the only thing keeping me relatively interested at the moment.

I thought Smackdown last week and this week's Raw were both pretty good. Of course, I watch both on DVR and fast forward through stuff I don't want to see, but I don't even fast forward anymore. What I think is this: The sooner you guys learn to stop being so cynical and go in ready to enjoy SOMETHING the more you'll enjoy the show. I mean, it's not great and hardly good, but it's not awful. It just sort of drags every once in a while.

Amen. Thing is they still can. Bryan usually gets one of if not the top pops of the evening. My fear is they will keep putting his push off and Bryan will miss his window. He could be over 10 times more than Punk if given half the push. The audience chose to cheer Bryan, he hasn't been pushed down our throats like Cena, ShameUs and Punk have.

You hit the nail on the head with my views on Punk/Heyman. The fact that wwe hasn't even hinted at the formation of a stable for Punk/Heyman reeks of missed opportunity and it sucks to see them not capitalizing on this the way they should be.

I understand striking the iron while it's hot but something about the Ryback push has desperation all over it. The crowd tonight wasn't as into him as last monday( I'm discounting last night since it was the worst ppv crowd in years) and I can his crowd support decreasing and becoming more negative if this super push continues and he beats Punk. He should be in Kofi's place right now and do what Samoa Joe did in TNA during his undefeated run and beat all comers as the IC Champion until finally losing the title in a Triple Threat Match next summer and moving up from there.

The Hell in a Cell was probably better than I painted it, but the crowd really brought it down and may have screwed Ryback's offense as a result.

His window closed 3 months ago, he's about 40% as over as he used to be and the crowd has caught on to the fact that WWE will never really make him a real guy and have lost faith in passionately reacting to him as they once did. Now he's getting the half-hearted reactions that dies down quick until he chants No, and then it dies down practically immediately during his matches. It's because they've been taught that he's gonna be jobbing whether he's super over, half as over, or a tenth as over. It's already too late, the Pavlovian response conditioning has already occurred.

I don't know about that bro seems you're kinda jumping to conclusions there by accurately saying 40 percent lol

Default Any Long Time Fans Just Giving Up On Raw???

fan of 20 years, stopped watching in mid 2000s

only watched for the big shows, wrestlemania and such, never even got into reading the spoilers for raw

in 08 i started rewatching again and even though it was bad i still had my wrestling itch back and liked hbk/taker/edge/hhh

there has been a few times i came close to stop watching again, in 09 it got bad but stuck it threw, dont watch smackdown, just raw and mostly record it and skip it alot

before cm punks shoot i almost just gave up on it, not even recording it, but the shoot kept me watching

but now i think its reached a new low, i have no interest on anything on this show, even cm punk doesn't really anymore

ryback is a joke imo, change the channel when he is on, or should i say SKIP on dvr, the future doesnt look bright

rock/lesnar/hhh/hbk/taker coming back for mania is all that will bring me back, and tonight was the first night since 08 when i never even recorded it and have 0 interest in anything

ratings are in the dump, and they will continue, wwe imo is in for more low ratings, hurricane or no hurricane the numbers deserves to be low
