I'd go with the underdog obviously since I'm a very simple type of guy. That's also the reason why I marked for Cena (underdog) winning in WM28, not the Rock (topdog).
It depends on the booking. I mark for underdogs like Christian, Cody Rhodes etc., but I also enjoy seeing top dogs like Brock Lesnar beating the crap out of other wrestlers.
I mark for the superstar I want to see picking up the win. Cheering for the underdog or topdog is like basing your decision on who to like by faces and heels. Thats how they try to brainwash you, but you can be above that.
Noone; whoever I want to root for. I've been a fan of the likes of Heidenreich, Vito, Paul Burchill with the Pirate gimmick, etc; as I am with Orton, Ryback, Punk, etc; nowadays.
I'm not a "wrestler glory hunter", I just mark to whoever I enjoy watching. And I think that is what everyone should do.
Completely dependent on the talent and the circumstances. There are top guys I like, there are underdogs I like. There are times when I like a talent better, but I want him to lose because of another scenario it would set up that would be better for him. For instance, Sandow and Rhodes vs Kane and Bryan. Who do I like in that scenario? Sandow, not Kane or Bryan. Do I want him to win the tag titles? No. Why? I want him to win the IC title. Not to mention winning the tag titles could harm his career because of WWE's stupid policy where every single team who holds the tag titles has one member who falls flat on their faces after the reign, I don't want him to be at risk of being that fall guy.
I'm not just gonna say every single time the more high profile guy should win, or the more lower profile guy. It's all about who it is and what the consequences of that win and loss are.

Underdog, as long as the wrestler is a legit underdog, and not just WWE's type of underdog who are actually booked as top dogs E.G John Cena and Rey Mysterio. But I'm talking more around the lines of Christian, Daniel Bryan and Mick Foley who was an underdog when he was active.
