that list is only for WWE superstars, and if we include all wrestling organizations I will put WCW's Goldberg at #1 with Cena (can't decide between them). also, I really believe Ryback is about to stand alongside with Cena and Goldberg at the all-time #1 position, in the future.
Rofl @ the list and lmao @ the underline. You can't list Kane above The Rock and Austin and expect to be taken seriously. I saw your criteria, but there isn't any logical reason to list Kane above Austin (and I have Kane in my personal top 5 all time). Even Kane would find it ridiculous. Cena has no competition now and he is less liked than Hogan was back in the 80's, has far less charisma, etc.

Kids today know who The Undertaker is. Kids today have no clue who Ric Flair is.

Austin,Hogan and Rock have more fans than probably any other wrestler and that is because more people were entertained by them.....

cruise,pitt,smith... etc have more fans also as they are the most bankable stars and put more asses in seats than any other movie stars.....

it is almost the same thing as a diehard football fan being unable to accept that another team is better than theres and voting for them despite knowing they aint really......

difference is when the best actors list as put together even ones made by people voting... these same people who prefer to go to see a cruise movie over a deniro movie are able to seperate there own favouritism and biased view and vote for who in actual fact is the better actor.

something that seems to be missing when the same thing comes round on poll and forums for example.... ill vote for my favourite over who is actually better...

roni10_levi is not that liked
Default Re: Is being the biggest draw a good enough reason to be considered the goat?

Cena's popularity CAN easilly match everyone's including Hogan's. I feel he has the biggest fan-base ever, so, obviously, he is not less liked or less charismatic than anyone.
about the Kane-Austin comparision, you don't have to accept with me, but that's my opinion. I really consider Kane as a better overall wrestler than Austin. he made a much bigger impression on me and I prefer by far his wrestling and gimmik style (Austin's gimmick is a total crap, in my eyes). that's why I put him ahead of Austin in my list.

Hogan will always be #1 in my book, if not for him I never would've became a pro wrestling fan period. I will say that the whole draw argument is overstated in fandom. Since when does a guy have to be "draw" in order to like them anyways?

Kids who are wrestling fans know who Undertaker is. I'm sure there are older people like Ric Flairs age that don't know who Undertaker is. Ric Flair is a bigger name than Undertaker outside of wrestling, I don't understand how anybody can argue that.

politics also play a huge role in who is classed in the higher tier of wrestlers according to official wwe lists etc, the most important factors are ofcourse drawing ability, how much money they make (merchandise, ppv records etc) popularity (kurt angle was fantastic all round but i doubt he'll make it to most top 10 lists due to this factor), star power and impact on the business, so from the hogan could easily could easily make number 1, rock, austin, taker, cena..., flair etc could all fit into that list

HBK and Taker, while they are great, are not in the same boat as Hogan/Austin/Rock, this one's not even debatable. They are huge, but Taker lacked mic skills (minus his Deadman gimmick)... it may not be his fault, as his gimmick really doesn't allow for it, but you gotta be a master on the mic here. As for HBK, I really don't see what others see in the guy, yes, he's definitely great, but the male stripper gimmick really held him back, he just lacks the look and the gimmick necessary.

Make no mistake, these dudes are still legends, but they simply aren't even close to the trilogy lol. If I had to pick a 4th, it'd probably be Ric Flair.

Good point OP
I have made a similar argument using movies but your comparison with actors is WAY better.

Answer should be NO, but marks get mad because then Rock/Hogan can't be considered GOATs
