Just say this mate-If you are a producer and make a movie with a budget of say 50 million.Do you want Cruise(No awards but sure 400 million) or De Niro(Sure award and makes 75-100 million)?

all depends on the movie as i said there will have been many a high budget movie who could have casted cruise or will smith or so in there lead role but choose to have a lesser known actor in the role instead because they felt that they would do the role more justice.. and make them more money in the long run over the initial bums in seats for the big name catch...
not all directors make movies to make money... some if not most are in it for the art... there not all vince mcmahons.
take the Star wars prequels lucas could have had the whole cast from skywalker to the last storm tropper in top notch a list stars..... depp as kenobi, pitt as vadar, cruise as skywalker.... why didnt he ? cause they would have plain ass sucked and yes the initial sales would be great everyone coming to see there fave stars.... then the movie would get panned by critics and fans... the movie series would be ruined and then dvd sales would suffer and interest in more more sequels if they wanted them would be blown...
lucas choose actors to fit the roles and make the movies how he pictured them being.

I dont care about how good an actor is.I want to be entertained by a movie.Cruise's movies have done that more.

Re: Is being the biggest draw a good enough reason to be considered the goat?
there are fantastic actors who keep lowkey profiles and choose to only make movies they see as worth of there skills who do not care for riches, fame or fortune but to be recognised as the best at what they do.
to name a few... daniel day lewis, kevin spacey, liam neeson.... etc
sure they aint ever gonna be on the front of ok magazine or be the hottest celeb but theyre content on being recognized just
on there acting skills alone and they get this recognition with oscars and high placement on the goat lists.
There are fantastic Wrestlers who keep a low key profiles who choose to only wrestle and have no interest in being in movies and only wish to be recognized as being the best at what they do.
sure they aint ever gonna be on the front of magazines or the hottest stars in hollywood, but are content on being recognized for there skills in the wrestlign industry and to be topping the goat of all time lists ...... oh wait it doesnt work like that in this business.....
to name a few undertaker, hbk, flair, bret hart, angle.....

no the others went bankrupt because vince started creating art! instead of trying to flog the same old dead pony.... he took a chance and it paid off.
just like a director can decide to not cast the superstar a lister as its the safe bet and take a chance on a new upcoming talent and go onto to having the movie of the year because he casted a better actor over a more well known one.
unfort mr mcmahon has now chose the play it safe routine... and we end up with what we get now week in week out... and its mainly because he has no competition tho.

Marlon Brando is the GOAT
Wrestling wise Vince McMahon, what would wrestling be without him?

Re: Is being the biggest draw a good enough reason to be considered the goat?
When I say Austin is the greatest of all time, I mean he was the most entertaining wrestler I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
I don't give a flying fuck about "drawing power", it just so happens that the wrestler I consider to be the best ever was a money making machine.
People care WAY too much about "drawing."
