Re: Powerslam Magazine

Love it, buy it pretty much every month. Great articles, the letters from readers are always a good read, the interviews they get are always good, and they always seem to have the inside story on hirings and fireings!!!!!

Re: Powerslam Magazine

It's pretty much the UK's version of the Observer Newsletter, only it's available to buy in stores and the editor doesn't have the contacts Dave does.

Was pretty much a revelation for UK wrestling fans in the 90's, but the emergence of the internet and breaking of kayfabe has dulled its impact. Still, a pretty good magazine. Was better when Rob Butcher was involved and wrestling was hot.

Like to take a look at their PS 50. Daniel Bryan should ideally be number one this year - he's been phenomenal as a character AND had a string of good matches

Re: Powerslam Magazine

I can see how good it was in the 90s, I have a lot of the early issues but still like buying it each month - Its true the internet has has a big effect on the business & I think the crowds at events have lost its edge compared to pre-internet times...

I didn't know this board produced a wrestling mag!

Re: Powerslam Magazine

I found one on the train this one time, read it and found it to have some good content. May buy it some time.

Re: Powerslam Magazine

I used to get it around 2003-2004 but I lost interest in wrestling and now I'm not sure of any where that sells it, used to be a pretty good read though IIRC.

I agree, back in the day it was the only way to get wrestling news and see the scoops before the likes of forums and dirt sheets. I occasionally read Rajah when I was at school but that was it for just Powerslam
