Even though he lied, Punk did a pretty good job at handling the question. The average employee would have shit themselves trying to dodge it and change the subject and although I'm missing out on what was so funny about the youtube comment, I give it up to Punk in the way he responded. Vince gave the same answer back in 2009. The truth is, they are not 'erasing' Benoit for the most part (except when they don't acknowledge him being one of the guys that inducted Eddie to the Hall of Fame) but pretty much acting like he was a ghost that somehow has such a huge legendary career.

I think that contradicts Vince's comments when he said "It's okay to acknowledge him for historic purposes". I understand not promoting him as one of the greatest or whatever but I find it really stupid when they make articles on wwe.com about the U.S. Championship's history and just skip past every year when Benoit was involved or when they talk about unified titles and say "Kurt Angle was one half of the first ever WWE Tag Team Champions" (and Benoit gets cropped out of the freaking pictures). Don't be scared, it's freaking history being visited.

Is that really on the DVD now? I'd rather them just not release WM 20 instead of just releasing it with Benoit as a black ghost lmao. Hopefully that's just a fan parody thing though.
Like I said, pretty sure this is a independent parody thing, to my knowledge they just advertise WM20 main event as featuring Shawn Michaels and Triple H and don't go into detail but still show the unedited match. Same for any DVD where they Benoit can't not be seen, they acknowledge he's there, they just don't make a fuss.

On an unrelated note, I don't think Sheamus or Ryder ever really knew Benoit unlike Punk (who I agine only knew him a little) which might have been why Punk decided to answer while the others didn't quite know how to answer something they weren't experts on.

I don't think he was ever convicted? Someone correct me or shed light on this.

Here is the picture they show for No Mercy 2002 and the first ever WWE Tag Team Champions.

And on Eddie's page, they claim that Chavo and Rey inducted him but Benoit is totally no-sold. Then the pictures they feature are one of the rare moment when Chavo and Rey stand next to each other which allows Benoit to be cropped out and the second one is of small size and very distant which makes it impossible to see Benoit clearly (but he's standing there along with the Guerrero family).

Agreed, Shameus just keeps his mouth shut and looks uncomfortable and Ryder is just looking around

It was a good answer. People will always challenge punk, he's more outspoken than your average WWE wrestler.

Why the fuck would they want to give any credence and even recognise him any more. The guy is a fucking murdering cunt.

Shame you can't see past what is a wrestling character and real life. Chris Benoit was murdering son of a bitch and for anyone to have any respect for him any more is disgusting.
