Remind you of anyone?

Vince is very lucky that TNA is an even bigger shitshow than the WWE, because the only reason he's been able to stay afloat is the lack of any real competition. WCW didn't have that luxury. There was another wrestling show on another channel that was leagues better and it shed light on just how shitty they were.

No you are wrong.

What killed WCW was AOL and time warner merger.

Are you really arguing that WCW wasn't largely responsible for it's own demise?

Do you think they still would have me their untimely end had they continued to kick Vince's ass in the ratings department?

If they go overboard with their anti-bullying campaign, they could do some major damage.

The return of Vince Russo.

Actually, things are so bad already that I wouldn't mind seeing Russo back just as the Raw GM or something. Might inject a bit of life and ratings into the show, short term at least.

I know everyone hates vince russo, but right now with this shitty booking/writers team they have right now I would prefer having vince russo instead of them

Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?

They are slowly doing that themselves with such a weak product. Will it be dead for good? never. But I can see a day when WWE fails, and it is just smaller companies. TV as we know it will be gone within 20 years, Internet/ tv etc will be basicallly one entity, which I think is going to lend itself to a wider variety of smaller products, rather than having a marketplace dominated by one monster. wwe is going to probably going to have to downsize and focus on the live business, rather than big TV Ad dollars, which will no longer be there. It will kind of parallel the current state of the music business, with live shows being strong, but album sales being a lost revenue stream.

I think it was both. The merger meant that expenditure had to be reduced and WCW was losing a lot of money so it had to go. They may have lasted longer if the merger hadn't happened but with the amount of money they were losing it was probably only a matter of time.

In controversy creates cash Bischoff claimed the company would have made a profit that year if they had let him do his PPV/KISS concert idea. With ideas like that it's no wonder the ship was sinking.
