At this point, WWE is like a Church, it's undestructible.

There won't be a single event that kills the WWE, but a slow death of multiple things is possible. It could be happening right now. The WWE has lost a lot of their big names and have done very little to build guys up to replace them. Vince is already getting "those" phone calls from the suits at USA. How long before showing reruns of NCIS and Law and Order: SVU become more attractive and cheaper alternatives to Monday Night Raw.

WWE can't pull the "we're not sport, we're sports entertainment" crap anymore and federal regulations like in boxing apply.

Somebody dies at Saturday Morning Slam (well, taped, won't happen, I know)

WWE turns out to be a covert drug ring / mob structure

Some Columbine style incident in the WWE or crazy WWE fan related (similar to the video game crap at Columbine)

WWE Network rips a black hole in the budget

Kids get totally high on MMA for some reason, wrestling gets "uncool" as fuck and a whole generation skips wrestling aka no cashcow in an era

Cena pulls a Benoit and Vince keeps him in mainevent through video packages

Losing hair? Gain muscles!

If WCW could fall, so could WWE. And seeing as how they're emphatically following in their footsteps, it might even be inevitable. It might take longer seeing as how they have no real competition, but like I said... 10 years. Tops.
I love how people just take guesses to try and put down today's product. The situation with the WWE right now could not be more different to WCW's situation towards the end. What killed WCW was them trying far too hard to push the boundaries. If anything WWE have the exact opposite problem, they're playing it too safe and not making any strides forward at all.

People saying the PG Era or some shit like that are morons, just because the product isn't directed a your age group anymore doesn't mean it isn't making money.

WWE Probably wont be around forever, eventually it will die, but probably not for a long time at least I think it will be around when I am an old man watching it wiht my kids and grandkids. Though to say Pro Wrestling for good is going to end isn't going to happen, another company will rise. Wrestling will always be around.

Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?

the only thing that will close WWE in the forseeable future is something along the lines of what happened with WCW. The suits above didn't want wrestling on the network anymore, so they destroyed it from the inside. Because WWE is still a family business (even though its floated on the stock market), nothing like this will be happening anytime soon. The company would have to be taken from the Mcmahons and ran by another entity, for it to close.

Wrong.

What killed WCW was going to 3 hours. What killed WCW was failing to promote new talent while keeping the emphasis on yesterday's stars. What killed WCW was nonsensical booking that left audiences confused and disinterested. What killed WCW was it's clear lack of direction and lack of stability.

Remind you of anyone?

Vince is very lucky that TNA is an even bigger shitshow than the WWE, because the only reason he's been able to stay afloat is the lack of any real competition. WCW didn't have that luxury. There was another wrestling show on another channel that was leagues better and it shed light on just how shitty they were.

I think Vince McMahon's death could possibly end the WWE. Pro Wrestling will live on.
