Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?
WWE might run themselves out of business in the end if they continue in the direction they are going. They fail to create stars that draw people in, more and more fans will walk away and the ratings, buyrates and merch sales reach lower and lower numbers. It's not a fantasy world where they are immune to hitting rock bottom. I mean, yeah, they have survived horrific periods like the steroid scandal back in the 90s and more recently, the Benoit tragedy, but they are not invincible. With the way they are wasting money right now on pointless shit like Linda's campaign and WWE Studios, there'll be a point where they don't make enough profit to make up for the losses.

Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?
WWE will die in 10 years because of the lack of big names. What will happen when poeple like the rock, stone cold, chris jericho, cena, cm punk are to old and can't physically come back to help them out when there in a bad place and they havn't got any stars to bring in the views. lack of entertaining talent will kill them in time. I mean who will be a big return when cm punk and cena are gone. The miz? zigler? shemus? no they won't bring in the views when they company needs them. There killing themselves slowly right now.

I don't think it's outlandish to suggest that a wrestling company can go out of business because people don't care about their wrestling anymore.
Let's say you own an established burger joint that's been around for 20 years. It's a neighborhood favorite. And then one day you hire a new chef who changes the recipe. Before you know it, less and less people are eating there. Only rather than resort back to your proven recipe, you continue to make these new burgers that no one likes. 2 years later, your restaurant takes a loss in profit of 9%. Only you still decide to keep the same burgers on the menu. In 4 years your profits are down 21%. Where do you think you'll be in 10 years?
The creative direction and the booking absolutely determines the future of the company. If no one cares, no one watches. If no one watches, no one makes money. It's as simple as that.

You have just described the situation perfectly, a lot of people think it won't go out of buisness because its WWE but when you describe the situation there but change the WWE part to a restraunt everyone thinks that the restraunt will go out of buisness. Just shows what WWE will be like in 10 years if they continue to go down this road.

The Fink: "and NEW WWE Champion,

(3 year reign minimum and consistently given tons of TV time with his baby oil and near nakedness)
:shudder:
Brodus Clay is also now IC champ.
Hornswoggle squash match over the Rock in a loser leaves town match.
The Miz has a Billy & Chuck storyline with Cody Rhodes.
Mae Young on commentary.
...and on and on...

When Vince McMahon dies, the WWE will either die with him or be taken over by Triple H and be even more successful. We'll see.

Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?
its foolish to say that the WWE will always be here.
No company or tv show, no matter how seemingly big or popular is invulnerable.
Everything has to end at some point.
TNA has proved that throwing money at pro-wrestling is a good way of losing your money. There just isnt the return or the ratings that justify the risks. Which is why youll never see another Ted Turner.
So its left to the WWE. Though none of us are experts, I would guess that at some point (and it may not be for another 30 years) that the wwe will go bankrupt.
And theyll go bankrupt because of general apathy towards pro-wrestling in general and the attraction of MMA to young male adolescents which are the WWEs main consumer
The WWE machine is so big and needs to spend so much money to make their money that I could see it would be very easy for them to accumulate debt if the ticket sales and merchandise drop.
