Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?

Another steroid scandal could potentially shut them down for good.

However, pro wrestling in America could die from 1 of the following reasons:

Vince McMahon puts a hit out on a wrestler, Rob Black style
WWE makes light of child molestation
Another steroid scandal occurs, bigger than the 1 in the 90s
A rape angle
If a big star from the past 15 years severs ties with the company and dishes out all the dirt
Barring the first two, I honestly think they would be able to survive.

After surviving Owen and Benoit, I honestly believe they can survive anything. Just makes me scratch my head tbh.

Yeah and it's likely the other 3 I mentioned will never happen.

When you think about it, Vince has survived:

Expansion
Mel Phillips sucking little boys toes
Jimmy Snuka "allegedly" murdering his girlfriend
The steroid scandal
Several sexual harassment allegations (biggest being Pat Patterson)
Numerous drug related, wrestler deaths
A government investigation
Over The Edge 1999
Benoit
World Wildlife Fund
Numerous failed business ventures
Several highly offensive characters & angles
Several rather big names speaking out against WWE
Several damaging media portrayals

And likely many more I missed.

Makes you wonder: If WWE survived all of that, what else is there?

Re: Is there anything that could kill the WWE or pro wrestling for good?

Well, a live murder on TV could probably kill the WWWE. Something like that Mass Transit inscident.

A rape angle would be horrible, but the Benoit situation is still worse than that. Unless maybe Vince is the center of that rape angle. And it has something to do with his grandkids or at least Stephanie. Yea, I think that'd put down the WWE. If Vince wants to go out with a bang, that'd be a nasty way to do it.

Nah. That'd actually save them.

Now, making Sheamus the Undisputed Champion? That's a WRAP.

"Churning out" is right. The product has become so manufactured, so sterile, so transparent... that it's turning people away. Newsflash, ratings and buyrates are down.

If WCW could fall, so could WWE. And seeing as how they're emphatically following in their footsteps, it might even be inevitable. It might take longer seeing as how they have no real competition, but like I said... 10 years. Tops.
