More Details On WWE Creative Shakeup & Vicnent's Blowup

Source: F4WOnline
After Monday's big creative shake-up at RAW, one source told F4Wonline.com that the stress of RAW being three hours has finally hit Vince McMahon. The entire weekend built up and imploded on the WWE flight to the West Coast for this week's TV tapings. Vince had been in a bad mood for several weeks and something happened on that flight that pushed him over the edge. We noted before that a major blow-up with a top WWE star backstage was a major factor.

Brian Gewirtz, who has been demoted to a consultant role, was the Senior Vice President of Creative and had been reporting directly to Vince and Stephanie McMahon. He was recently demoted to the "home team" that stays at WWE headquarters and works on scripts. It's said he had only showed up to the Stamford offices three or four days a week for the past year. This got him major heat with others.

The head writer for RAW is currently Dave Kapoor, the former Ranjin Singh. Ed Koskey is likely still the head SmackDown writer for now while Eric Pankowski is the overall head writer. Many others have creative input including Michael Hayes.

One source put some of the blame on Stephanie McMahon. He told F4Wonline.com: "The reality is Brian isn't the real issue or even a band-aid. Stephanie has run this dysfunctionally toxic division for the entire duration of its ratings decline. Her horrendous structure from the committee dynamic to who she fast-tracks and how rigidly the shows are structured are why this product isn't gangbusters. Plus, three hours is a [disaster]."
whoever that source is, he is about get canned

I think the source is right. The whole thing went downhill once Stephanie entered the writing room. She's a clueless dolt.

This is like a football team where a rich owner buys the team and his kid wants to play around at being General Manager. Usually the teams then suck for extended period of time, before someone from the outside comes in and sits the rich owner down and convinces them to have success they have to fire their kid and hire someone from the outside.

This sounds just like that with WWE.

Re: More Details On WWE Creative Shakeup & Vicnent's Blowup

I could buy this because ex-writers have said in the past the she really is not the person to be running creative and those were some of the reasons why. Plus I wonder how much Stephanie looks at what the writers come up with from the Mom POV.

This explains everything I dislike about John Cena.

I think you may be right with that. Why isn't Triple H doing shit about it though? You'd think he'd have a clue. He obviously should have pull with his own wife.

I think his wife's politcal campaign is a huge part of it too. They keep changing shit in favor of it, like shitcanning the Sheamus hooligan storyline, putting up the pink ropes and adorning Cena with breast cancer attire, plus all the commercials for it to doll up WWE's image after the anti-WWE attack used against Linda.

Anyway. . .I hope this stuff is true, because for as much shit as people on here give Vince, one thing about him is true is that he doesn't tolerate people failing him. He strikes me as the type of guy that would stay up all night working on stuff and not even sleep just so it gets done right.

I think what happened is that Vince wanted to retire, and took his fingers out of some of the pies and let Stephanie deal with it. . .then things started to slide downhill. Now Vince is going to have to put his foot down again.

I'm confident Vince will do something because he's an intelligent and tenacious person. People like that don't fuck things up when they're actually trying. I think the main hurdle now is Linda's campaign, as opposed to Stephanie's ineptitude.

Agree with that, it's something I've thought for a while. Another large factor is that Vince, even now, is still obsessed with eclipsing Ted Turner's success in the media world and Stephanie has gotten into that mindset too....the amount of times that the old Monday Night Wars and Ted Turner are still mentioned on Raw even to this day is pretty embarrassing. They seem more hellbent on using their wrestling shows as a means to an end to make it big as a movie studio or launch a successful TV network (neither of which will work as WWE Studios has had a horrendous output of mostly straight to DVD garbage and isn't taken that seriously, and the plans for WWE Network are extremely flawed) rather than concentrating on making Raw and Smackdown must see shows, like they were a decade ago.

That being said, I'd get rid of Dave Kapoor as well, he obviously isn't working out either.
