Re: People say that the problem is all with the writing and the roster is amazing....
People don't realize you can only look superior based on how you're booked. WWE's booking was 10 times better in 2003, compared to today. And IMO, the guys today, in total, are better workers when given the chance. What made 2003 stand out was the characters & storylines. Guys were utilized to their full potential, whereas now, WWE only shows interest in a hand full of guys and their development.

You know what made all those guys stars? GOOD BOOKING!
(They were talented but so are a bunch of guys now who don't get the chance to be themselves and make themselves..they get fed crap and so they come off as crap.)

I have apparently joined in repeating basic knowledge.

2003 2012

Rock Cena
Lesnar Bryan
Angle Orton
Trips Sheamus
It's short sighted to take a snapshot of now and compare it to 9 years ago. Talk to me when you imagine years of those legends being booked primarily to make Rock/Cena look good. Or imagine where Kofi'd be if he wasn't consistently stop starting. I'd give 30% to the talent having been cultivated enough to pull a DBD a la knowing when and where to toss aside the script. That's 70% of their starpower attributed to how the machine used them. Just look at Ziggler these days. Dude knows he has to stand out, but WHO told him HOW to stand out? Where are the mentors?!

WWE is filled with 'Good Ol' Boys' in power positions. It is just how it is, and I will keep calling WWE, Pro Wrestling in USA, as well as some of it's fans out on this because it is bollox. I do notice an apparent effort being made to mitigate this somewhat, but time will ultimately tell.

I would still blame the creative department(including Vince of course), there's a lot of talented guys on the roster who could be significant names but aren't due to shoddy writing and booking.

Yes imagine boring 20 minute HHH promos where he burries the entire face roster and moves any heels that may threaten his top spot to Smackdown. Then works 30 minute HHH epicz with 30ref bumps, 20 broke tables, 5 run ins, and sledge hammer shot to "protect" the face as HHH keeps the belt. yawn.

Its hard to say that this roster is 'amazing' when 70% of it doesnt make an appearance on mainstream television. Some of them dont make an appearance at all and they're lucky to appear on NXT or Superstars where as for guys like Sheamus, Punk, Mysterio etc. that would be a major relegation.
