But now in the WWE most of the roster only look bad because of their booking whereas the majority of wrestlers on the roster in 203 were well booked, this thread doesn't prove anything.

Re: People say that the problem is all with the writing and the roster is amazing....

2003 had a much better roster than today, that's for sure. Today's roster is pretty poor and it shows with the horrible quality of every Raw, Smackdown and most PPVs (ones that don't bring back Rock, Lesnar, Undertaker or HHH anyways). Some have not been given the opportunity but mostly, they can't hold a candle to what the early 2000s had to offer.

And as I've watched 2003 come to an end recently, I say I'd much rather go back and watch HHH's reign of terror where he put on poor matches every PPV over anything from today. And Smackdown was amazing in 2003 save for the McMahon bullshit and Mr. America aka Hulk Hogan being wasted in shitty storylines.

HHH vs Scott Steiner at the Royal Rumble is better than anything today has to offer, which is a joke in itself.

Have to agree, 2003 was the year that I switched WWE off. I thought it was terrible.

something that sbeen on my mind for a while

If wwe blame the wrestlers for not making them money or ratings then why hire them to begin with?

why even give them screen time or pushes or title runs then if they dont get behind them every step of the way?

OP.....

All those guys in the 2003 roster sucked until some good writing made them appeall to people and then they became popular/likeable and talented in peoples eyes.....

all those guys in 2012 roster suck until they get some decent writing to turn them into likable/popular talent... any of the 2012 guys could have beem big names in 2003 if they had the writing going on form 99-2002.

PPVs and SD haven't been bad, tbh. And I'd blame that on the writing more than anything.

Re: People say that the problem is all with the writing and the roster is amazing....

The roster is great... the booking is what is keeping this roster from even trying to reach the levels of past rosters.

Punk
Cena
Ziggler
Bryan
Kane
PTP
Epico/Primo
Kidd
McIntyre
Del Rio
Mysterio
Kofi
Orton
Miz

And the whole NXT crew filled with potential stars.

It isn't the roster being thin or shit... the wrestlers are there. It's creative not giving every single one of a story and feud to be involved with, IC/Tag divisions to grow in, and even a chance to break into Cena's spotlight. For crying out loud, you have had Punk and Bryan both get so over that they should have been given more chances at the ACTUAL top to see if it worked out. Instead, we got ME after ME with Cena in mediocre feuds that didn't build anyone up but Cena.

Thanks for the wonderful memories Ultimate Warrior... happy you got to be recognised as the legend you are before you went. Rest in peace
