they did have a few that were decent, La Resistance, Dudley boys, Kane and RVD, Hurricane and rosey, a few others, but i agree the nash and steiner fued with trips weren't that great. I liked the goldberg feud just cause of the hype, showing there is someone that could stop the franchise player triple h, i really liked the elimination chamber at summerslam, but i would have changed trips opponent at wrestlemania X-9 for sure.

@Legendmaker - I think you think quite highly of your opinion, but I disagree with you here. And I remember quite clearly most of the time periods in question. WWE lost me somewhere around 2001, but from a sheer wrestling talent the roster compares nicely.

i never asked anyone to agree with me, i love hearing others opinions, imo i just think you can't compare star power or wrestling talent, CM Punk is a good wrestler but not on the same level as; angle, eddie, benoit, hbk, RVD in his prime etc. and thats only 5 guys outta the list that made wwe star power huge. But like i said we don't have to agree, everyone has an opinion.

There are tons of guys both on the main roster and in developmental who COULD meet that bar, though. That they don't, or that they're complacent about chasing after it is a clear product of Creative's micromanagement and of the locker room culture.

oh i don't doubt that i am just saying comparing the main rosters only wwe had a better one in 2003 imo, but if wwe brought in some indy talent like davey richards, kevin steen, even some tna talent like daniels, Styles, Aries, Sabin, shelly, alot of great wrestlers that wwe are missing out on, they had colt cabana but did shit with him.

The one thing to commend previous eras over this one is that there were characters with well defined motivations and stories we cared about. Bring those guys from the indies and TNA (which is basically the indies, I don't know why I bother to differentiate) and it would be no different, because they'd be Generic Guy In Black Trunks #367. Or Monster Heel 3 (of 5) - collect 'em all!

I don't know about that. HBK and CM Punk are two totally, radically different characters. They are, however, quite comparable in skill on the mic. They're both heat magnets when they're being heels and loved when they're not. (And loved when they are, in some circles.) They're also both that "too small to be the face of a company. whoops, they're the face of the company guy."

Rock and Cena - I don't know, I was never that enamored of the Rock and Cena doesn't bother me as much as he does the rest of y'all.

I'd take Daniel Bryan over Bork Lazer any day. D-Bry has versatility. He can be a good-guy babyface, a cowardly heel, a comedy character. He's a good actor AND he wrestles like Dean Malenko and Jaguar Yokota had a baby and left it on the doorstep of the Gracie Dojo. And I kind of love that about him. Not that I don't like Brock, and I think he's a spectacular big man - the big man of my dreams, since he can actually work. He's just limited in every other area.

I'll give you Angle over Orton, because I haven't seen anything to really commend Orton to me aside from the fact that he has the most beautiful thighs and he can WERK the baby oil look. Angle is, of course, one of my favorite guys to watch wrestle and he's funny and just filled with awesome.

And I'll concede Triple H over Sheamus, because Trips is just so good at being a bad guy. I do like Sheamus, though. I think his feud with Barrett will change minds. This never-ending Del Rio feud hasn't helped matters. Which is sad, because I really like Del Rio! I think he's an excellent wrestler.

The roster isn't great, at all. I think the poor writing makes it much worse though.
