For a long time WWE seemed to be more interested in muscle than character.

How often do they need to refer back to Austin/Rock just to get the crowd going.

We need to move on from these guys and start concentrating on developing the massive amount of crap we have.

People like David Otunga (who has the personality of a lame duck!) shouldn't be offered contracts! YES he has huge muscles but that really means sweet F.A to the ratings!

The ability in the ring is there, in fact it's better now then it was back in 2003.
HHH, Benoit, Angle, Eddie, Chavo, Edge, a healthy/younger Rey Rey, both Hardys, Tajiri, Noble, Helms, Brock, Taker, RVD, an active Booker T, Kidman, Ultimo Dragon, Akio, Flair, HBK, Christian, Jericho. All capable of putting on consistently good, entertaining matches and did that year. 2012 you have Punk, Dolph(who can't be taken seriously as a main eventer), Kidd, Kofi, Danielson, maybe ADR annnnd... Exactly. 2003 DESTROYS 2012 as far as ring work is concerned so don't even go there. One of the greatest pure wrestling matches of all time happened that year.

Nearly half the guys on your list are average or worse talents, and nowhere near "amazing". I bolded the ones I'm talking about.

Thanks for making a list and all, but you really padded the numbers there with guys who didn't belong.

It shows.

Take CM Punk for example.

In the last 4 years he's turned face/heel/face/heel/

They should have sent him to Smackdown(To feud with Sheamas, Bryan & Del Rio) instead of turning him heel to be fed to Cena again.
Orton and Wade would make great antagonists for Cena on Raw as they've proved in the past.
A faction of Wade, Orton, HHH, Heyman and Lesner Vs Vince, Cena, Steph and friends(Rock, HBK, Undertaker).
There's a years worth of storyline to be written there alone.

Over on Smackdown you'll have Punk to carry the load and draw viewers in with "wrestling"
Punk vs Sin Cara, Hunico, Drew, Dibase, Hart etc...
Punk can keep the story running with his pipe bombs and they'd all be great matches.
Turn Bryan face so he and Punk can bounce of one another all year then have them clash in the Rumble or something setting up a match for WM. instead of the crappy AJ GF crap we had to absorb this year.

It is the writers who are to blame. They're afraid of taking chances.
Like Wade being held back. He's got main event talent which he's proven already. Sure he's green in the ring but he's a damn site better then a Ryback who can't even speak.

Wade is this generations HHH. The rubbish theme and gimmick is mid-card. Blame the writers for that.

CM Punk shouldn't be on anything but the A show.

you can't compare this roster to any other roster by far one of the worst rosters wwe have ever had, im sorry 15 year olds its true if you were older when you saw the 99-2003 era you would understand even the 90's had more star power.

2003 was a weird year for me. I loved certain aspects of it, especially on Smackdown and I liked Trips as a heel and was a huge Evolution fan. But I hated most of the Raw main event storylines that year. Wasn't a big fan of Raw in general that year.

As of right now, WWE has plenty of talent that I like. Just half aren't being used.

This is the exact problem. Wasted talent!

if you could do 2003 over again but booked differently i think you would say 2003 had the better talent for sure, just some of them weren't used as much as they could have been,

Probably. I just didn't care for the Goldberg/Steiner/Nash feuds with Trips. None of them really interested me. But Evolution as a whole was great and Smackdown was very entertaining. Wasn't too big on the Raw tag division back then though. I didn't really think the teams meshed well.
