Asenath is wise. I agree with all the points mentioned. The butterfly belt needs to go.

I am all in favour of equal opportunities and all that but they have had their opportunities and the result is the same. They don't draw. Even the vast majority of women don't cheer or tune in to see the women. They should keep the womens division on NXT untill they can prove they can put on a 10 minute match without botching or boring the crowd to sleep.
There is only so much you can do with a roster of women who were chosen for their physical attributes instead of their desire to perform. Or even worse, the ones who see wrestling as a stepping stone to a career as a pin-up model and not an actual career! And even the good wrestlers, like Gail Kim, were held back by road agents who warned them not to perform to the top of their abilities for fear they'd show up the men.

So, in what universe does Short Matches + No Storylines, or storylines that only peripherally concern the women + subpar or held-back talent = success? If women's wrestling in WWE gets no crowd response, it is because the company has given them nothing to care about.

They need to do a complete overhaul when it comes to the talent. Get rid off or send the untalented barbies back to training and keep the ones that can talk as managers for wrestlers who lack mic skills. They also need to give the divas gimmicks and not have them be generic smiling pretty girl and generic mean girl. Lastly, stroylines would help immensely. Random title matches and feuds make the fans lose even more interest when they already have none.

Well for starters, they could take the most over diva and put her in the ring instead of having her playing a GM role.

Trish Stratus wasn't a wrestler when she joined WWE. She trained to be a wrestler and was motivated to prove that she wasn't just a pretty face. Even the Trish/Lita era didn't really make much of a dent in the grand scheme of things. I don't remember people saying 'we gottawatch Raw tonight Lita takes on Trish for the womans title'. Whilst I don't deny the 'physical attributes' argument, I think it is far too convenient to just blame it on WWE. Either way I don't care. The current crop just hasn't earned any screen time and should be relegated to NXT until the crop can prove itself. If a male performer performed that bad and lost that many ratings they would be demoted or worse released.

So much this! There are lots of midcard guys kind of herp-derpin' around, with no discernable characters and can't work the mic. Oh, for a Sensational Sherri or an Elizabeth, to smooth the way. That could be your eye candy, for the guys who insist that there MUST be some decorative females just kind of being around in a state of undress.

(That came out harsher than I meant it to. Attractive people draw interest. I get it. Hey, I am a proud supporter of Antonio Cesaro's thigh straps and Wade Barrett's beard. I can't judge too hard.)

I actually like Vickie Guerrero's gimmick, and I was disappointed that her daughter quit because while she wasn't any great shakes in the ring, she could have been an excellent manager.

Re: What could the WWE do to rebuild the Divas Div

Bring Kelly Kelly back and let her have a better deal contract where she can do WWE shows as well as her own stuff. The divas division is fucked without her as the fans only cared about her

Re: What could the WWE do to rebuild the Divas Div

I actually don't mind the term "Divas".

Feature the women's wrestlers more often. There should be a balance between women wrestlers and models. While women in non-wrestling roles shouldn't get all of the focus, the champion and the #1 contender shouldn't get ALL of the focus either. If possible, try having more than one Diva feud going on.

Re: What could the WWE do to rebuild the Divas Div

The diva's match on raw last week was actually one of the best matches on the entire show. They even went outside of the ring and used the barricades, etc.

The fact that there is an actual storyline atm shows they must be trying to improve it.

Does anyone appreciate mixed tag matches? Can't remember the last time we had one. Could help to build storylines.
