Re: Wrestler Years 5: Undertaker
It's tough to pinpoint Taker's top years because he's been awesome for different reasons from 1997-2009. 1997-1999 he was a big top draw for the company. From 1998-1999 he was at his best character wise. From 1998-2003 he was excellent on the mic. From 2005-2009, he had an amazing 4 years of in-ring work that I don't think is touched by anyone else at the level of starpower that Undertaker has and especially 2007-2008 are the best two years of in-ring work that's not have anything to do with Benoit or Bret Hart.
If I had to choose one of the options in the poll, it would be Big Evil, 2002-2003. Awesome heel run during that time, had great matches with Angle, Rock, Flair, Lesnar, Cena, and more. He was at his peak on the mic and was legit one of the best mic workers in the company at that time. He was dominating, evil as a heel, and entertaining as fuck. People don't like the ABA/Big Evil chapter of Taker due to it... well... not being the real deadman. But I say if it was entertaining in all aspects, then fuck it, that's his best time for me, and his character was great as well, even if it wasn't the deadman. Only flaw he had at this point in time was he wasn't a major draw as ABA/Big Evil, and his Undisputed Title run, despite being the best in terms of entertainment, wasn't keeping business up with Rock leaving and Hogan out of the main event. But still, that's minor imo when determining his best year compared to years like 1998-2001 when he wasn't good in the ring or 2005-present where he's been just boring on the mic and not the most exciting thing to watch when he's not wrestling.
I'm watching you...
