Because it was a boring match.

The open stadium did take quite a bit out of it, but it was still a tad disappointing.
They also had to put up with Machine Gun Kelly, so you can forgive them for not knowing how to react afterwards. |
Re: Why was the atmosphere so dead during cena/rock?
The fans were probably exhausted after being extremely vocal during Taker/HHH.

You can't expect them to be mega hype after sitting there for 4 hours. Two high profile matches (Taker/H, Punk/Jericho) plus musical performances will take the wind out of anyone. I still think the crowd was hot given the circumstances though.

sound less noisy in such enviornment. The pop Rock got after pinning Cena 1-2-3 was still absolutely immense though. |
Re: Why was the atmosphere so dead during Cena/Rock?
It was definitely the open environment. I was there and it was loud, even after being somewhat burned out by the HIAC and Punk/Y2J matches. It just didn't translate well on video.

Rock tearing his hamstring during the match probably added to the other reasons listed.

I was there live. I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. That was one of the best loud atmospheres I can remember going to in the WWE. You're probably saying that because it was on TV and it was an open arena. The crowd was extremely loud though, especially for Rock/Cena and HHH/Taker.
