This, lol...especially the low income part. Look at us for example. Youtube/streaming is all we do! Even if all college students in the world became fans, they wouldn't actually spend any money on the product

Hit the nail on the head. A few college students may buy tickets when or if the show comes to town. In addition, even if they did buy a ticket its very unlikely they would spend anything on merch. T-shirts, toy belts, cobra sock puppets, etc.

I started watching again 2 summers ago (currently a senior in college), and got some of the guys in my fraternity to watch with me. I'm the only "loyal" viewer, but guys will watch with me if they're hanging out. I think it would take cranking up the rating to TV-14 or just making it an edgier product to get more college aged guys into pro-wrestling again. I'm not talking another Attitude Era, just more violence in and out of the wring (hardcore matches n' stuff).

simple $$$$$$$$ theyre broke and most likely gonna spend whatever they do have on food and living..... kids on the other hand see something they want.... cry till theyre parents get them it.... so wwe makes everything appealling to a kid $$$$$$.

I think they should at least make an effort to do this.

1) like back in the late 90s, they need to have their shows at more college arenas instead of corporate arenas.

2) when they have these show, they need to do grass work marketing to let people know they are there.

3) specifically have these college campus shows when someone like Rock or Brock will be there. This will give the doubters an excuse to go and hopefully be attracted to some of the other wrestlers while they are there.

4) in order to catch their interest while there, they have to make the product appeal at least a little bit more to adults.

The 4th point is the main problem. Other than that, that is the formula for capturing that fanbase.

It worked in the late 90s with the kids that grew up with Hogan. It can work again with the kids that grew up with Austin.

They would have to switch to TV-MA content to reach that demographic, and it wouldn't be good for Linda's Senate run. You got as much chance of that happening as finding a three-legged balerina.

You'd have to get their attention with a Diva's lingerie pillow fight and then try to suck them into a storyline afterwards. Which would only work if someone they recognized like The Rock was involved.

If they don't like wrestling, name value will make no difference. Advertising the diva's and then trying to draw them in with OTT storylines is a better idea. The Rock's in his 40s, if they target this audience it would have to be using wrestlers in their 20s.

Attracting an adult audience doesn't have to involve strippers and bloodbaths - or any other mid-90s nonsense. It just requires compelling storylines. We need characters first, and stories that show them off to the best advantage. Whoever has been writing FCW/NXT has been excelling in this.

to be fair i introduced my college buddies to wwe and we used to get like 10 - 15 of us together to watch every big ppv (rumble, mania etc) even went to the last mania with a couple of them! To this day we meet up every year for drinking games over the rumble and we actually had our own version of the hardcore title that you had to carry around with you on campus if you were champion. God how I miss hitting sweet chin music in lectures. In the UK Its pretty much the perfect college programming to achieve student cult status, its on late at night (raw starts at 1am now, used to be 2am) ideal for when stumbling in drunk and its something you can make bets on!
