The perfect build would have been to keep Punk off TV for months, have him wander around with the belt, eventually put the "fake" belt at Cena, and then say around SS at the earliest have Punk return and start the "belt v belt" storyline that would culminate at WM. It would have been epic. But as people have said... the WWE blew their load on a terribley built one year feud that couldn't actually be consistently built. Soooo.. yeah.

because WWE have changed their strategy when it comes to WrestleMania, I prefer it. They don't have the talent to build to a Punk vs Cena match all the way to WrestleMania and then would it even draw that big?

You get the real roster for for 10 months, with maybe 2 or 3 of the 'Special Attractions' topping the bill throughout but WrestleMania is reserved for all of them to comeback and give us that 'Big Show' of the year feel.

I think it's a great way to prolong proven talent without them needing to run out of gas per se for the entire year.
