- he loved to sell... like 2/3rds of all his matches consist of him writhing in pain on the ground. It is another reason his matches are slow paced
- His matches are very formulaic.

Not everyone is a fan of technical wrestling. I can see how someone who likes faster paced matches finding Bret's style pretty boring.

That being said, I do think he threw the best worked punches of all time and always appreciated that
This basically summaries my opinion.

Technical wrestling at its purest is effectively trying to accurately recreate a real fight scenario, which is interesting to watch from an analytic point of view (Oh, that leg is taking a lot of punishment which will restrict multiple potential moves) but wont be as memorable as throwing a person through an announce desk. Not dissing either, my list of favourite fights would be comprised of both technical matches, power matches and spot monkey matches.

As to the topic at hand, yeah, talent underutilized but WWE are getting better what with their massive amount of TV times now. Though as much as I like Kidd, I feel Bret was over-promoting his product there.

lmao wow u got so upset over this. I love the fact that you call me an idiot and then go on to just assume throughout the rest of your rant. I watch "Mr. Excitment" aka Bret Hart. The guy was boring. Thats why WWE was down when he was "the man". Maybe I'm just not as biased as you all. Bret clearly is a legend(for whatever thats worth) but he was a awful face of the company. Bret being face of the company = WCW kicking WWF's ass.

Who is Johnny Curtis? Nobody...just the future of WWE!

Not necessarily true. Chris Benoit was never exceptional on the mic. He got over pretty much on his wrestling skill alone.

Fuck Tyson Kidd. If he mentioned Kofi instead of him then I would agree 100%.

I disagree on Bret Hart's assessment of Brodus Clay. The bets thing they couldve done with him is give him a gimmick that was different from the usual "mean bad monster." The mean bad monster wouldve went the way of Tensei.

I was 8 when Bret was "at his peak". Maybe thats not old enough but I remember him being really boring and wanting to watch WCW instead.

You won't find me telling people who are older than me and were actually there, that Harley Race was better than Billy Graham or some shit. Why? Because I wasn't there, and have no idea who was better. It's before my time, and I can comprehend the concept of not talking out my ass and having an uninformed, worthless opinion about EVERYTHING. Stick to talking about Kofi Kingston and the shit that is of your own time, you little turd nuggets, and shut the fuck up when grown folks are talking about things that they actually know about.

Rant over.
Hey idiot, don't you find it funny you rant about me being uninformed and not knowing what I'm talking about and then start spouting off about me and my age, when you clearly don't know either. Chill out! You're calling me young and talking about "shut the fuck up when grown folks are talking" but you're the one acting like a child. You can't even make your point with cursing. Its pathetic.

Re: Bret Hart On WWE Wasting Talent

I admit I am SICK of Bret's Whining Bitter Obnoxious attitude (but I blame Stu Hart for such a$$-backwards upbringing.. I'd Imagine Bret with his "Values" only lost his virginity after Marriage lol)

And I admit that he focuses on HEADLOCKS a lot in order to maybe instruct his opponents the next "Story" and that sometimers takes longer than it should and I find myself Fast Forwarding the movie. But nonetheless when analyzing the story of the match it was indeed phenomenal, with a smaller moveset than other pure technicians like Benoit or Malenko he IMO managed to tell better stories, he's like the most technical a "WWE style" or wrestling can be (with the lack of deeper technical wrestling moves ) minus the WWE styles flash or flare (which Shawn masters to an excellent great degree)

However his Mic Skills started bland and lame and had neidhart do the mic but as time progresses although his choice of words is generic, his voice still had the conviction of a confident competitor and by the time of the North-American War Angle i was blown away

To The Troll who started the bret hart flaming and derailed the thread, i won't directly comment on you But i might just file a complaint about you to the mods
or maybe i'd just be tempted to hijack this thread myself and turn it into a Benoit-Murder/Defense thread thus rendering the reactions you're seeking irrelevant (just kidding) BTW I know what you're gonna say about that.. "Bret Hart's Whining is even worse than that single Benoit Act of Killing his family" yeah I get it whatever.. If the world ends in Dec 2012 you might just as well blame bret for that either.. You're the Jameson to Bret's Spider-Man.

onto the REAL topic

I Disagree with Bret's Assesment of Tyson Kidd and Brodus Clay, maybe their characters and the PG direction are really shackles on their potential but still their execution and movements leave a lot to be desired.

But I agree that there are a lot of great talents being underutilized, but i guess that's the corporate structure or Business Model nowadays, to remain profitable to their target market without much confusion, they have to manipulate their roster so that they are beneath cena (card positioning, storytelling, character strength, limitation of moveset, reaction-inciting) that indeed is VERY counter-productive to the overall wrestling scene but i guess the corporate structure of things really overpower them, true there are Del Rios etc. emerging but they are very controlled and seemingly contrived.. I probably have the same View as Bret's but he fails (or at least not discloses) on his views on the business side of it..

I don't like it but that's how it is..

these days a Bad Product to us Marks are just a way for them to gain Heat like how a Heel does it.. and their core audience (Kids) with little to no SALES-RESISTANCE will most likely eat up everything.. including Turd.

You weren't there. It's obvious. I'm not mad about anyone's INFORMED opinion. If someone who was actually there had valid comments about Hart, I'm cool with that. That's not the case here. You kids who wiki and youtube your wrestler history and then speak on it as if you are the voice of authority and really have a good grasp of the time period kill me.

Some things are just obvious. Feel free to lie about your age and claim you were there if you want.....I won't believe you though.

I can make points without cursing, if curse words hurt your feelings or offend your sensibilities. I simply chose to curse in that post......because I wanted to.
