Steve Austin without "Mr.McMahon," would he have enjoyed the same success?

Would he have enjoyed the same success and popularity without Mr.Mcmahon? How big of star would he have become without heel mcmahon?

I doubt it. That's the feud that helped him to get over.

How big would Hogan be without Andre?
How big would Rock be without Austin?
How big would Batista be without HHH?

The same answer

Austin already increased WM buys by three times before he even got involved without McMahon

But Austin vs McMahon was pinnacle of pro-wrestling

Successful-Yes
But definitely not that much

Of course not. We'd remember him today as much as we remember The Headbangers.

Austin was already massively over before there fued began, the Austin vs McMahon fued put it on another level. But he wouldn't and neither would the WWE of had the same success without it.

In my personal opinion, He wouldnt be the Mega-star or a game changer for the industry without Vince but he surely would have been the "Cena of WWE", in essence massively pushed as THE MAN of the show, regardless of other contributing factors.

Stone Cold Steve Austin winning King Of The Ring in 1996 is where people took notice of him whilst the feud with Bret Hart pushed him to the top of the card and got him very over as a mega heel and then as a tweener or anti hero babyface depending on your perception. Then when he was injured by Owen Hart at Summerslam in 1997 and kept returning and hitting everyone with a Stunner he became even more over but it was actually the first meeting between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mike Tyson that saw Stone Cold Steve Austin became a HUGE star leading into WrestleMania 14.

I would say that Austin/McMahon along with Hogan/Andre in 1987 were the pinnacle of wrestling and it's two defining feuds and there is also no doubt that as Austin/McMahon went along it made Stone Cold Steve Austin an even bigger draw as people wanted to see what would happen next but i don't think Stone Cold Steve Austin would have been that much a lesser star or draw without the feud. There was The Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley, The Rock, The Big Show, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit to work with one after the after and this was at a time when wrestling was in a HUGE boom period and people wanted to watch wrestling so had Stone Cold Steve Austin simply done the same things with other people his star power would be similar but probably slightly less.

Austin should worship Bret Hart & Vince McMahon(he already worships him. TRUE STORY) cuz they were the ones responsible for Austin's success the most.

And those saying Austin helped Rock become big
Rock snatched the torch from Austin in 1999 cuz Austin damn sure wasnt giving it to anybody
Rock's rivalry with HHH was what elevated both the guys, and then Rock's feud with Foley is what solidified him as a legit main eventer.

But most of all what elevated The Rock, was his endless charisma, his Attitude and his flawless in-ring psychology
