I just hope that we see some sort of gimmicks in the main event again.
This. Wrestling is meant to be silly and fun. I missed the goofy days of the 80's and early 90's.

Greatest gimmicks of all time were Main eventers

Sting (Crow / Surfer)
Undertaker (Deadman / ABA)
Hogan (Red & Yellow / Hollywood)
The Rock (People's Champ / Corporate Champ / Hollywood)

Re: Why are all the best gimmicks midcard gimmicks?

All the midcarders are similar now. "I am the best, let me tell you why. Even though I haven't won a match in 6 months, I can do things in that ring no one else can"

"I have beaten everyone on my level its time to move up to guys I'm better than, but have never beaten, and WWE wont let me beat at a PPV or in a title match"

Basically the only reason they are midcarders is because WWE doesn't really allow anyone to move up into the ME picture. Daniel Bryan, Cm Punk and Sheamus/ Del Rio are the only guys i can think of in the past three years. Christian kind of, but he got bumped back down. Henry, but they never put him in a PPV Main Event. Wade Barrett got a few WWE Title matches, but it was kind of like "We're giving you this match to lose" and then they bumped him back down a notch.

Mid card gimmicks are also incredibly bad. I think the mid card, and lower card to an extent, is a place to throw crap against the wall and see what sticks. If the crowd gets into it, they propel the wrestler. If not, just let him fall.
