Fuck interesting characters and stories, bring more generic rybacks and shove them up their audience throats.
Cena is over! Sheamus is over! Ryback is over! Then why the fuck they need the rock to save their ass now? And before you point at punk and say he's the reason for the bad ratings, judge by the big picture not what happened in 2011-2012.
I certanly do not agree with you on Christpher Daniels. I see him as very talented, but that itself does not take you that far on just that. A wrestler need something more than just beeing a guy who can do a triple mounsault of the top of the cage.
Well business has to go backwards a bit, since the attitude era pushed the envelope too far and the audience was just expecting more and more.
People complain about the Triple H and Lesnar match. Me, I think it was a really good match which told a story with interesting believable over the top Characters. Mr Daniel could do more and go longer in the ring, but that does not change the fact that he would never be percieved as a legitimite threat as Lesnar.
And to push vanilla midgets as Kevin Nash said, it is a common fact that bigger and stronger sells more in the long run to the general public. So it would be Stupid of Vince NOT to try to push a guy like Ryback. Sure many of them fails. But so does a lot of the high flyers and pure wrestlers too.
So anyone with some bit of marketing sense in their body know that Bigger is better.
But that does not take away the fact that I do enjoy watching old Rey Misterio, Benoit, Angle, Flair, Bret, HBK matches. But I also like Matches involving Cactus Jack and Big Show. By that I mean, I like a variety in matches and stroylines when watching a PPV.
Sure John Cena is product of the Corporate WWE marketing Machine. But that is how it works in the business world when one tries to produce a new product
The reason WWE do use The Rock is simple, at the peak of Hulkamania, nWo, Attitude era, WWE and WCW used the likes of Mr T, Mike Tyson, Dennis Rodman among others celebrities. It is just about reaching out to a wider audience. I thought you knew that. Yeah the business is down, so how could be better than the Rock to attract more viewers? He is a famous moviestar who knows the business, is super charismatic, and can still go.
Nah I am not blaming Punk for the bad ratings, the world economy is down so id do affect WWE, yet they make profit. I soley dont blame a wrestler for failing, it is how much WWE is behind your back too. Heck, I like Punk, just because I defend the muscular guys does not mean I hate the smaller guys. Hope you get that.
Yes I namedropped Warrior, Hogan and Goldberg due to he fact that they tend to get the same chritisism from what I've seen over the years.
