Default Was Attitude era really just a fad?

Its no secret that Wrestling was at its peak during the AE years. Even after 10 years, WWE has failed to capture that magic even though WWE is more popular in the international markets right now. No matter how hard they try, they couldnt be as mainstream as they were back then. So,

1. Do you think AE was basically just a fad?

2. Can it happen again?

3. If the WWE booking was good and consistent, will there be another mega- star like Hogan or Austin?

There is a mega star now, his name is John Cena.

I think the attitude era was perfect for the time, we have to change with the times.

during the time i thought it would never end now growing up. looking back with nostalgia it wasnt really a fad. to me a fad is something that was popular a long time ago that now no longer isnt, however its still popular although isnt shown anymore. id say it was a niche market. it was amazing for that time but unless regulations change we will never see it again. main difference for me is 1. cena aside there are no mainstream guys. during the AE austin rock taker all mainstream guys that transcended this business. and the second difference is im embarassed to admit i watch now then it was something to be proud of.

1) Of course it was

2) Yes,it can happen again if it goes to Tv-14.I am not some idiot who thinks blood and insult will increase the product but it can make it more popular. Why ? Because people thinks of WWE as fake now. This is too nice.If there was bloody match, people could says, well,it's not so fake after all,and go back to the WWE.This is why the UFC is working right now, because there is big fight.

3) A mega-star ? I don't think there is somebody in the roster with enough charisma. The only guy I could see be a mega-star is Randy Orton but if the booking was better,we would have tons of stars, there is the potential

Pro Wrestling in general was a fad from about 1997-2000. The nWo storyline and later the Attitude Era are to thank. Had it never been a fad, I never would've started watching in the first place.

Cena is not a mega-star. He is popular thanks to heavy marketing, but he doesnt draw as much.

The Attitude Era was perfect for its time and I loved it. But that time has passed, its time to move on.
