Boom. Thread over, they will do whatever they can to make more money, if putting on fantastic wrestling matches drew money then they'd do more of that...seeing as it doesn't, they stick to the soap-opera stuff which does draw an audience.

Re: Wrestling isnt even WWE no.1 priority.

Wrestling was never WWE/F no 1. priority. Entertainment has always been the focal point of many if not all wrestling promotions , the WWE is no different. The Wrestling aspect of professional wrestling has always played 2nd fiddle to Entertainment no matter what time period or era your watching it in( unless were going all the way back to the 40s and 50s). Pure wrestling doesn't sell anymore, there has to be some type of soap opera involved in it, in order for it to sell to the masses.

Prime example:
The Wrestling booms in the mid 80s - early 90s and 1996 - 2001 didn't occur because of the sole action of Wrestling.

Sorry to disappoint. I'm the PRIMERA.

Re: Wrestling isnt even WWE no.1 priority.

Wrestling doesn't exist to WWE. They care more about their shitty storylines than the fucking wrestling itself. It's a shame, really.

I'd honestly just take a 6 match card a night with a few backstage promos/interview to tie things together. Not this shit we get now. Remember Raw in 2004?

Well let's put it this way: WWE has a full roster of people that can wrestle a great match. They don't have people that can make a remotely decent storyline. So they should probably try and stick to their strengths at the moment.

Re: Wrestling isnt even WWE no.1 priority.

This is nothng new. The show will never be centered around the act of wrestling, because that is simply not the aspect of the business that has mass appeal. Just look at who the most popular wrestlers ever are. Hogan, Rock, austin w/ 2 bad knees, Sting, goldberg, warrior, whoever. Flair was a great wrestler, but that wasn't why people tuned in for him, it was because the ric flair character was awesome. This has pretty much always been the focus, even prior to the rise of wwe really. The rise of workrate-based indys in the last 10 years has skewed people's opinion on wrestling, but the companies with TV were never wrestling-based like that. hell aside from a horrendously shitty raw this week, wrestling purists should be pretty happy with the product right now, with guys like punk and bryan holding top spots. The big problem is that the storylines and characters just suck fat fucking cock.

5. Ignoring or burying the blatantly talented.
6. Making large and important feuds and story lines only to flip flop, change their minds and burry some of the greatest concepts they have ever come up with. Nexus, Brock Lesnars return, ending CM Punks momentum and the anonymous RAW GM.
7. Ignoring what the fans want.

This coming from a WWE mark who tries to look on the positive side. But seriously in a year or two things will look a lot better.
I wouldn't call anonymous Raw GM one of the greatest concepts ever. In fact it was one of the worst and most irritating concepts in the past decade.

Didn't you know? Apparently it's a soap opera. CM Punk, AJ, and Daniel Bryan. The storyline is getting stupid. >;0

I'm so over it..
