Not really getting much feedback in the ppv section.
I missed nearly all of the attitude era because i was quite young back then.
What PPVs would you recommend I watch for
a) Quality and
b) Key events.
(B) Survivor Series '98: Deadly Game (Awesome tournament. The Rock becomes the man)
(B) Royal Rumble '99: No Chance in Hell ($100,000 Bounty to eliminate Austin, Rock vs. Mankind I Quit)
(A) St. Valentines Day Massacre (Austin vs. Vince - Cage)
(A) Armageddon '99 (Triple H vs. Vince)
(A) Backlash 2000 (Awesome card. Wicked Main Event)
(B) Armageddon 2000 (6-Man Hell in a Cell)
(A) Royal Rumble '01 (Benoit vs. Jericho Ladder)
(A) No Way Out '01 (Austin vs. Triple H 3 stages of hell)
(A) King of the Ring '01 (Kurt Angle.)
(A+B) Invasion (Great card)
(A) Royal Rumble 2002 (Great Rumble)
(B) No Way Out '02 (nWo debut)
Personaly favourite would be RR 2000, NWO 2000, Vengeance (2001, I think, whatever was the first one), Fully Loaded 2000, just for the cage match alone is worth it, Backlash 2000.
2000 had the best PPVs of the attitude era .. all PPVs were amazing from the Royal Rumble to Armageddon , i highly recommended it
you got to see a lot of Benoit/Angle/Jericho brilliant matches , Rock/HHH were in the best shape and their prime days in everything , undercard was tight , and storylines were sweet too
but if you were eager for PPVs from 1997 to 1999 , might i suggest Backlash 1999 , Summerslam 1997 , Over the Edge 1998 , Survivor Series 1998 and Unforgiven 1999
weren't the greatest technical matches but fun to watch
And I know I'll be in the minority here but I really enjoyed Royal Rumble '99. I thought it was the perfect demonstration of the AE's cluterfuck style booking in a really enjoyable way. Crowd was also awesome during the RR match.
Royal Rumble 1998 through to Invasion 2001. All in my opinion, highly enjoyable and great PPV's full of future stars and main event calibre mega stars in a few short years.
SummerSlam 1998
Survivor Series 1998
Royal Rumble 1999
Backlash 1999
Survivor Series 1999
*I was about to nearly name every PPV of 2000 So I stop and tell you Fully Loaded and KOTR is probably the only two that is worth a pass*
Royal Rumble 2001
No Way Out 2001
Judgement Day 2001
SummerSlam 2001
Unforgiven 2001
Survivor Series 2001
Vengeance 2001
Royal Rumble 2002
No Way Out 2002
I would argue every PPV in 2000 was rock solid. Some were better than others, but the weaker ones were still better than most to come later. The best of that year had some classic matches: Street Fight at RR, Hell in a Cell at NWO, Iron Man at Judgement Day, a great triple threat at SummerSlam
