Working for WWE?

So if the IWC is so passionate and into WWE's product and other pro wrestling stuff, why don't they consider working for WWE? My curiosity is that, if ppl want a better product, why not fix it yourself and take over the company?

Ofc, you may tell me it's not that easy or it's not practical, but surely enough, the WWE is an interesting working place that can lure dedicated wrestling fans in working their organization.

Anyone here who like to share his/her own stories? It can be based from other ppl u know.

Yeah, I think everyone on this forum has had that dream (whether being a booker or in the ring). I know that was my dream as a kid. However, I am currently getting my degree in Engineering, so I don't think the WWE has a place for me (perhaps for designing sets, but I haven't really looked into it). Would I jump at the opportunity to be a creative writer for the WWE? You bet your ass I would. Seems like you have to be in the entertainment for a while to get a job like that (or win a World Championship).

I looked at many diff job openings WWE had. I was never interested, but I just wanted to see what it took.

You have to have several years of experience(like 5+ years working in a specific field at a specific rank). Even then, it's still not a guarantee you'll get the job, and most of them require you relocating to Connecticut.

I always wanted to work for WWE, hopefully there comes a time where a job opening for WWE comes and it's one that I can realistically apply for.

It's too bad that they seem to hire a lot of Hollywood types instead of people that are actual fans. I can understand wanting somebody with experience but you'd think there would be a lot higher quality stuff being written by a hardcore fan that's right out of college than somebody that's done other stuff for 10 years and isn't necessarily passionate about the product.

Sorry for the bump, but I just wanna share this link on WWE's job opportunities: http://www.wwe-careers.com/wwe/jobboard/ListJobs.aspx?__SVRTRID=4A8EFE79-59A4-4399-8372-9D8C25E1CB21

I'm taking a double Bachelor's degree on Organizational Communication and Advertising Management btw...so I could go to Corporate Communications, Digital Media or Marketing :D

Nore sure if they require a Masteral degree, but hey, I might consider applying them after I graduate or have some job experience in my country first.

Guys, anything's possible!

Oh man, what I wouldn't FUCKING GIVE to work at WWE as a creative writer. I'd probably quit out of exhaustion pretty quick, I'll admit, but those will be the best times of my life. Working with superstars backstage, seeing how everything goes down, working with Vince or whoever is in charge at the time, it honestly sounds PHENOMENAL. Of course, if you've listened to past creative writers talking, their work experiences are practically horror stories when it comes to the workload there, but at the same time, you would get to experience SO much that it'll all be worth it in the end.

I do plan to work with WWE one day. I'm going into Computer Science, and would like nothing more then to work there doing IT stuff. It would be a dream come true tbh. Of course, like one guy said, it takes years and years of experience in a field before you can work there as an anything, but again, if your that focused on it, then I'm sure you can make it in.

Fun fact: Dave Lagana said on his podcast that WWE once hired a PILOT as a creative writer, so those with totally off career fields might still have a chance at getting in as a writer. Although he did quit over email in a couple weeks, but that's besides the point!

I'm not so familiar with IT, but what I do know it most of ya'll are made to be business / systems consultants. I suggest you practice business and media ethics.

I don't think most people on the IWC have what it takes to work for the WWE as a writer.

So many say "WWE should have done this, should be doing this" etc.

All they are saying is, that is how THEY want it. But just because that's what they want, does not mean that is what everyone wants and people really need to understand what is invovlved in writing.

Wrestlers have their own egos, you may have a good idea and want it to go a certain way but there are so many constrains such as this wrestler needs this much tv time and cannot lose, this person does not want to work with so and so.

I have read some of these wrestling scripts that fans created and posted on sites like this and they are terrible, they would never ever work. I understand that they are just for fun, but there is so much involved.

We all have different tastes, I could write a storyline that would be very entertaining to me, but it may onyl be entertaining to me and nobody else.

Just had to say great thread. I grew up the baby of 6 and the 5 older were all brothers so I grew up with sports and with wrestling. I would love to get on there in administration, and have experience and have been trying for a few months. So I have been able to see the postings, it seems to me the turn over is sky high. Seems insane to me, I'd love a job I could travel and get to be around people. I know I am crazy. LOL LOL :faint:

People don't cause it'd require moving to Connecticut, and the requirements for jobs are crazy.

It's like 5+ years of work in a similar field(meaning most of the times, it's requirements that only people in hollywood or something would match).

That's why WWE seems to be moving more and more away from tradition and more like a tv show. The people incharge are just people who fit the job requirements, regardless if they're WWE fans or not.

Unless someone is biding their time and waiting 13 years to pounce on Hunter's eldest daughter, the average person has no fucking chance of running the company.

And if they were, they do not have the right frame of mind to fit in a normal society, never mind run a global fucking company.
