I honestly don't think a gimmick like Taker's will ever get over properly again. They should let his legacy alone when he retires, and focus on making entertaining characters that are based in realism.

This. If a surreal deadman gimmick was introduced now, it would never go over in today's more realistic, almost UFCish wrestling environment. Back when Taker made his debut, WWF was in an era full of outlandish gimmicks and most people didn't know about kayfabe back then, hence the children crying during his entrance in Taker's early days.

I don't think Taker's son would come straight into the WWE for various reasons:

1) He'll be a rookie and will need a good couple of years in developmental to learn the biz.
2) Once he is ready, Taker would be really hard on him and would want him to be ahead of the curve before stepping up to the big time.
3) In the current climate of youngsters wanting to get into MMA rather than wrestling (and Undertaker's own admittance that he would have likely entered MMA had it been lucrative at the time when he began wrestling) I think he's most likely to step into MMA then if he fails in MMA he'll make the step over to pro-wrestling.
