So what do you think of this guy????? Lets ignore the HHH favouritism rumours and the amazingly rapid rise to the top. DO you like him as a credible top monster heel for the company???? Personally im not too impressed, i basically got tired of the - big mean foreigner with about 4 moves wholl beat everyone to a pulp and the get so much weaker after his reigns. Ive seen it too many times before.

I think he has good presence both in the ring and on the mic.

But it's a classic case of WWE catapulting a good heel to the top, giving him the title, and short-circuiting his future. Sheamus should have spent two or three years honing his class in the IC/US division, crafting some meaningful rivalries and developing a proper character.

Unfortunately, WWE is all about hotshotting these days. It's the hangover of relying on established stars and refusing to develop new main eventers in the mid 2000s.

I agree that that's a serious problem right now, buuuuuuuut.....

It's the hangover of relying on established stars and refusing to develop new main eventers in the mid 2000s.

Even if we only define the "mid-2000s" as 2004-2006, all of the men above won their FIRST world championship during that 36-month span, and that doesn't even count guys winning their first world title in WWE that had won them elsewhere (Goldberg, Booker T). That's more first-time winners in a three-year span of time than at any other point in WWE history. Saying that WWE didn't try to make new main eventers during that period just doesn't make sense and isn't supported by the facts.

I think Sheamus is great. I wasn't too keen when he first came and I thougth putting the title on him at the time was a massive mistake. But he won me over during his reign, and impressed me futher with his feud with Trips. His mic work has improved, and overall he's improved as a wrestler. I think he has fantastic presance both in the ring and out of the ring, his mic work is good and it catches your attention, he has a great look for a main eventer and is pretty good in the ring.

He's managed to be seen in my eyes as a legitimate main evneter now, and is my second favorite superstar in the company.

My biggest complaint is that his gimmick is just way too overdone. We get it. He's from Ireland. Do we have to name every single one of his moves the "Irish _____", "Celtic ______", "Brogue ______"? I'd be curious to see if he really talks like he does, or if he over-exaggerates the accent for the sake of the gimmick.

Either way, this is 2010. Foreign gimmicks like his (or even Santino's) should have died with the late 80s/early 90s. It's just a crutch, and my guess is that it might be holding Sheamus back.

As the posters above really. Couldn't believe how quickly he won the title. Didn't like him at the start but he really has grown on me with both his mic work and ring skills.

He sucks. Mediocre on the mic, mediocre in the ring, no presence, and he's not intimidating in the slightest. He looks like Bozo the clown, it's impossible to take a guy like that seriously. He's just another case, with Orton and Batista, of Triple H having a terrible eye for talent and deciding to make a guy a star who never would be otherwise.

He sucks? He's one of the most promising wrestlers on the main event scene at the moment.I'd personally take him over Barrett anyday really. The only thing Barret has going for him over Sheamus is the mic skills.Sheamus is leaps and bounds ahead of him in ring skills. He's not intimidating in the slighest?:lmao I'd hate to run into him in a dark alley as the worn down saying goes.I'd describe his look as unique really.

This. He's got a very big upside, but he was pushed to the title too quickly. He now suffers from the usual "Now what?" afterthought of booking. he's gone from one of the main guys on RAW to feuding with Santino Marella and having tea parties.

I like Sheamus.

He was in the Main Event Spotlight for awhile so I guess this "de-push" or whatever you want to do call it has to do with that. I think he'll return to the spotlight soon enough. Going forward I think he's a great heel. I do agree though, he needs to add more moves to his palette.

I've always liked him, from his pre-WWE days to right now. He just keeps improving all the time and he's awfully hungry and wants to impress. Much better in the ring than he's typically given credit for, he's actually been involved in some of the better PPV matches this year (vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania, vs. Orton at Summerslam, his outstanding performance in the Six-Pack at Night of Champions, his HIAC match against Orton) and has been reliable on TV and at house shows as well. Has a good, well-defined character now, too.

If anything, Sheamus getting the insta-push was from the hangover of all of Vince's pet projects through 2007-2009 not named Jeff Hardy and CM Punk bombing or just not reaching the top for whatever reason (Kennedy, MVP, Lashley, Kozlov, etc., etc.).

And what does that say about the main event scene? The world champions are Kane and Randy fucking Orton. WWE's main event scene is a joke.

How unfortunate for you.

And his look, more charisma, and the fact that unlike Sheamus, he actually has a stage presence. He commands attention, Sheamus doesn't. That's why Barrett is the top heel on the show, leading the biggest stable in years, in the biggest angle in years, and making the face of the company his BITCH, and Sheamus is playing with Tea like a schoolgirl with Santino and Kozlov, and getting his ass whooped by a midcarder every week.

Sheamus isn't leaps and bounds ahead of anybody. He's still yet to put on a memorable match himself.

No, he's not intimidating. He's big, but so what? How can you be scared of a guy who looks like a corpse? I wouldn't worry about seeing him in a dark alley because he'd project right through it.
Yes the main event scene is a joke but it still doesn't take away he's a great prospect by any means ,i'v said this for years.

The only reason why I perfer him to Barrett is because he can actually put on a good match ,something Barrett hasn't done yet.

As for Sheamus current spot on the roster i'd say their just passing time untill HHH come back so they can rekindle their fued. This like all of Morrisons fueds/pushes are going no where.

His match vs Daniel Bryan on Raw ,Orton at HIAC ,his match with Morrsion on Raw and he has some great chemistry with Cena too to name just a few.

He's big but so what?:confused:Just because he's pale doesn't make him less threating ,thats absurd.Just because he's pale it doesn't mean he won't kick your ass.

I'll bet you have. And I'm sure it's absolutely not anything to do with him being from Ireland...

Neither has Sheamus. What good match is on his resume? And I'm not saying he's not had a good match because I don't like him, because God knows I hate Swagger 10x more than Sheamus and I can still give him credit for a handful of good matches, but with Sheamus, what is there? He's just got bland, mediocre, forgettable ring work that leaves no impression on me.

As for Sheamus current spot on the roster i'd say their just passing time untill HHH come back so they can rekindle their fued. This like all of Morrisons fueds/pushes are going no where.
They are, but it basically shows what kind of stock he has in the main event if this is their way of killing time. They'd never make Cena or Orton or even Barrett do something this profoundly idiotic.

His match vs Daniel Bryan on Raw ,Orton at HIAC ,his match with Morrsion on Raw and he has some great chemistry with Cena too to name just a few.
Well, I don't agree.

He's big but so what?:confused:Just because he's pale doesn't make him less threating ,thats absurd.Just because he's pale it doesn't mean he won't kick your ass.
Doesn't mean you have to be intimidated by him either, regardless of what he might do. I simply can't, and won't believe somebody as a credible competitor who looks like a clown (And yes, I realize I have a Joker avatar. Vastly different circumstances...)

Sheamus is ok in the ring, but I did not like how he was blasted into the main event by beating jobbers like Jamie Noble and expect me to take him as a threat against John Cena. He should have never been the WWE champion. His reigns were forgettable and boring. The only time I care for Sheamus is when he is not in the title picture.

I think he's got potential, but they dropped him into the main event scene too quickly, mainly because they couldn't book another Cena/Orton match. The booking could have been better. He spent 6 months feuding with Goldust,Shelton Benjamin and Jamie Noble, before being thrown into a feud with Cena.

However,he's got an interesting look, great physique and seems to be level headed, not forgetting his Irish nationality. He should make a likable babyface.

I don't know where my opinion is with Sheamus, first off he is 32, not exactly a youngster by any means, older than a portion of the current roster, and I don't think he's a draw, so I can't see him as a main event player, unless he really gets big and can be a legit main event who you can take seriously and butt asses in seats, I think the most he's ever gonna get in terms of star power is probs slightly below Kane level, big but not a face of the company. But he looks different, which is a change (not just because he's a ginge, but because of his size and ov course his skin colour), and is ok on the mic. ButI just can't see him being anything big in the future, mereley a heel who will always be floating around the mid-upper mid card.

I do like Sheamus, but he was pushed too fast, faster even than Swagger. He seems like he'll pull through the subsequential de-push though, unlike poor old Swag.

Sheamus has good mic skills, he can be comical even when not trying, the best kind of comical if you ask me, and he ain't too shabby in the ring.

I'm a fan.

I find most of his matches entertaining. I love his in-ring style

And when he talks, he always seem to say something that makes me laugh

I've been very impressed by Sheamus, since he came on the scene he's continued to improve and has had some very good matches. He may have some clout behind the curtain but i think he fully deserves to be where he is right now, he's a good bully heel but i think eventually he could be a very good babyface.

I think the E handled him really well, sometimes in life a new fresh talent pops up and shocks everyone. Not everyone needs the slow burn. Sheamus is a legit main eventer. Sure he might not be WM-headliner at the moment. But he could easily headline other PPVs.

I happen to think you make some valid points Pyro, but this one was just pathetic and made me real life facepalm.

Sheamus is an absolute beast, your telling me he isn't intimidating because he's pale? That's stupid, he stands at 6'5, he weighs the best part of 270 pounds, which most of it actual muscle mass and your telling me you won't feel one bit intimidated? Its alright saying this behind a computer screen in your mom's basement but I'm sure it would be different in real life.

Back on topic, I've liked Sheamus since he first started. He's got good mic skills, he's decent in the ring and has a good character.

Sheamus looks like one big goofball. Hes basically a ginger clown with muscles. Wow......talk about the look of a tough guy. Just because you have muscles doesn't mean you look intimidating. Bobby Lashleys got a ton of muscles and he still looks like a guy with the face of Wayne Brady who wouldn't hurt a puppy.

Sheamus is underutalized. However, if this new feud can help elevate Morrison and keep Sheamus busy until Triple H returns, then maybe he'll make a re-showing in the main event scene sooner then later.
