If they do end up unifying the World Titles. I hope they keep the World Heavyweight Championship instead of the WWE Championship, that's definitely the best looking belt.
I'd be surprised if this actually happened, but then again they have unified the Tag Team Championships and now the Women Championships will be too at Night of Champions.
Not gonna happen. It's obvious that the WWE Champion is going to win the unification match and keep the WWE title going. I think this is their chance to bring in a new title design too once the belts are unified, so at least something positive can come out of this, I guess.
Although I'm not a fan of their being one world title across both brands. If we only had one title, we wouldn't of gotten the great reign that JBL had with the WWE Title, we wouldn't of had Chris Benoit winning the World Title, Eddie Guerrero MIGHT not of won the WWE Title and Edge (back when he was good) might never of won the WWE Title back in 2006.
There are more negatives in unifying the belts than positives tbh. The only real positive I can see people arguing is that It'll bring prestige back to an extent, but the belts haven't been "Prestigious" in years (Seeing how people bitch all the time about how the belts are switched around) and yet we still care who is champion.
Plus, the main event scene is going to get crowded. By the time the belts are unified, you're probably going to have John Cena, Triple H, Edge, Randy Orton, Wade Barrett, The Miz, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk all being bonified world title contenders. Plus, the brand where the title isn't being defended at the time, people will have no interest in the brand since they don't have a World title. Not to mention you might have to factor in the winner of NXT II and III and the possible pushes of Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre on Smackdown.
This would be a terrible move.
