Re: highest and lowest wwe ppv buyrates and ratings
How much of WCW/ECWs audience watched WWE too though?
So in reality, I really see the amount of people in USA who watched wrestling back then being around 7-8M, 5M now is less, but I'm sure WWE would rather have 5M people and make more money than if they had 7M people and made less.
Lots of people still buy ppvs despite what people might believe.
WM26 got about a 2.2 buyrate number which would place it as the 15th highest WM in terms of buys(8th highest in 17 years)
People act like nobody watched wrestling, if that's the case, how come wrestlers appear all over the place on so many commercials and stuff(not even nba, nfl, nhl, mlb have had a promotion in stores like wwe does with 7/11). Those did you know facts are annoying, but it is true. WWE gets more viewers in USA than many channels such as ESPN and have much more followers online than all sports companies.
WWE is still doing better than the few years before the attitude era and WM even did better this year than it did in 1997(the ppv that featured bret vs austin). Ratings have changed too, I believe I read somewhere that the amount of viewers that watched Raw 10 years ago was like 6M or something(so the rating wwe got, multiply it by 1M and that's the rating), so its not that much of a drop looking at that fact too
