Best and Worst WWE/WWF Wrestling Video Games

Video games based on wrestling have been made for many, many years.

What are some of the best and worst wrestling video games, in your opinion?

Re: Best and Worst WWE/WWF Wrestling Video Games

What's with all the best/worst, most over/under threads?

Best for me was WM2000 just cause i played it forever and it really got me into wrestling

Worst was probably WCW nitro, other than punch, kick, irish whip. I didn't know how to do any move. It took like 10 button combo to hit a finisher based on what i read online.

Best-Smackdown 2: Know Your Role! Me and my cousin hoenstly mastered that game we were impossible to beat we also had some great times with the game we got some really realistic caws i remember hulk hogan and godlust those were really good caws the roster of the game overall was complete.

Worst- Smackdown vs Raw 2008- I don't even know why I bought it no one should waist there money on that.

I wanna hear the people who say No mercy as the best game i wanna hear why never played that game

Dunno about best but the worst is without a doubt WWF Steel Cage Challenge on NES, Master System and Game Gear. Lazy game design, slow as fuck, identical movesets for all wrestlers and no finishers, seriously, no finishers

Re: Best and Worst WWE/WWF Wrestling Video Games

My favs have always been the arcadey games like SmackDown! 2 and Here Comes the Pain. I also really liked SvR 2010 because of the create a story mode. I spent hours and hours making up the craziest shit ever, as well as a few more realistic storylines.

I didn't play it until 2005, but it was kinda like the SD! 2 of the N64. Both games came out around the same time, had incredibly fun and addicting gameplay mechanics, and the best season modes of their time.

And as for worst, WCW Nitro and Thunder were pretty bad. So was SvR 2008. Those are the worst ones I've played. I'm sure there are worse ones though.

SD! HCTP was such a great game. From making entrances, the character- everything. I was hooked. And hell, I just started becoming a wrestling fan!

My friend let me borrow it one day, and damn do I remember gaming it out on my PS2.
I really like SvR09 & '10. Both great in development.

Re: Best and Worst WWE/WWF Wrestling Video Games

Best

No Mercy 64 is far and away my favorite. I loved the controls. I loved the presentation. It was exciting & fun to play and was just the N64/THQ/AKI wrestling game perfected.

Wrestlemania 2000 is up there as well, and I feel both Day of Reckoning Games are under appreciated. They are the closest to No Mercy I've seen out the future generation systems.

Worst

I hated the Arcade style games in the mid 90s like Wrestlemania & In Your House. Very stupid, cartoony, and very "un-wrestling" like if that makes any sense.

How about the Car Crash game on Playstation back in 2003? I don't remember the name of it, but there is no wrestling. Its just the wrestlers driving custom cars and blasting each other. It was cool when Mario did it...but when I see the WWE logo, I want some wrestling in the game.

WWE Crush Hour - Never played it but it looked soooo damn stupid. Didn't look like much wrestling to me.

WWE RAW - I played only a very few times because I hated original xbox. The part that pissed me off besides the horrible button layout was that if your wrestler came out first the second one would always attack you on your way out.

WWE Here Comes The Pain - BEST GAME EVER! OMG! Me and a bunch of friends would play that game until our fingers bleed and were sore or the controls buttons would get stuck. We seriously played that game for hours into the night. We used to hold championship matches and everything. Brings back the childhood memories.

OMG yes! I forgot about those. WrestleMania XIX wasn't too bad either, but the DOR games were just incredible. Great fun, especially the multiplayer.

Crush Hour, yeah that game was stupid, if you even consider it a wrestling game.

Re: Best and Worst WWE/WWF Wrestling Video Games

No Mercy
WrestleMania 2000
WCW/nWo Revenge

Fuck all these next gen console wrestling games. These 3 are the measuring sticks.

As for the worst:

WCW Nitro
WCW/nWo Thunder

Holy shit did these games suck.

The 2 mildly entertaining parts would be:
1) Disco Inferno would hit the ring at random during a match
2) Each wrestler had a "Pick me" promo. DDP calls the player of the game "Monkey Boy" and Alex Wright cut the best 15 second promo of his life by promising "One hell of a wictory! I PROMISE!"..

Another plus was that Thunder had Mike Enos. "Who the fuck is Mike Enos?" you may ask, well he's in the game and I won every title with him (by the by he was 1/2 of the Beverly Brothers so fuck yeah)
