Default Ric Flair vs Undertaker At Maina X8, A Underrated Classic?

I feel this match is a underrated classic. It happened at Mania X8 and after watching it recently again, I forgot just how good of a match it really was.

Both men really clicked, it was a real great heated feud heading in and the match lived up to the hype.

It's a really hard fought, bloody encounter, some nice in ring work action and out, and both men take bumps. We also see the legendary Arn Anderson give Taker a near perfect spinebuster.

For anyone who hasnt seen it or hasnt watched it in a while, it's a must.

I agree that it's underrated, however I don't know about it being a classic.

I don't know if I'd call it a CLASSIC, and it being forgotten has a lot to do with Hogan vs. Rock turning out to be as special as it was. However, the match was very good, and one of the few highlights from this Wrestlemania outside of Hogan/Rock.

I saw the match as it was broadcasted on PPV. Being a Flair fan, I was somewhat dismayed by his lackluster in-ring performances in the latter days of WCW. I wasn't expecting much of a match, but I was thoroughly entertained by this one. Flair seemed to have found the fountain of youth and really put forth a really good match.

It is a forgotten classic because it's overshadowed by Hogan VS Rock that was on the same card.

I really enjoyed this match. But as others have said Rock-Hogan took the shine off every other match on the card. SO yes the match is under rated imo.

It just goes to show what a great, unforgettable heel Undertaker was back then. During his 'Respect' phase, he was absolutely brilliant. I still remember when he kicked the shit out of David Flair, it was the first time I really found Undertaker unsettling.
And at Wrestlemania X8, which was a fucking awful show, he had the match of the night.
Undertaker carried Flair to a great match and it's definently among his best efforts at Wrestlemania. God knows why they always insisted on putting him against big guys when he's so much better against someone like Flair.

Good match but I don't think it was a classic. For it to be a classic, both men would have to have been on top of their game, which Flair wasn't. Flair was out of shape at the time, and hadn't wrestled for a while, he had a bit of ring rust during the match. Undertaker had to call the shots in the match. But from the way the match turned out, you wouldn't have seen Flair's flaws. Good nonetheless

I thought it was amazing, the Arn interference and the top rope superplex were immense.

**** from me.

I remember Flair saying (in his book, I think) how much he enjoyed working with Taker. It is a really fun match, I wouldn't say classic, but easily underrated.
