Default Question about wrestlers and protecting their balls

This is NOT a joke thread - I ask this because I went to an indy show a few weeks ago and when I jumped from the ring apron to the floor, all the pressure went to my nads and it hurt like hell. Now... I normally don't look at wrestlers in the sack area, do they wear cups, or does the really tight pants/trunks get the job done?

A woman I know did her university dissertation on wrestling and she says that everything strapped up down there.

Please explain.

...and if I were a pro-wrestler (or in any other contact sports) I'd prefer my junk to be firmly in its place. I wouldn't want to end up looking for my ballsack under the ring after the show is over.

Haha, I wonder if having giant balls has ever prevented a wrestling trainee from following through.

I think that's part of why they wear 2, sometimes three or more layers down there. It just makes sense to me that it's better to keep them as tight as they can and in the same spot so when they do the spots where they "fall on their balls", the balls don't actually get hit.

Your balls hurt when you jumped off the ring apron? It's like a 3 foot drop. I'm not in the best shape by any means but I'm pretty sure I could even jump off a ring apron without any type of pain.
