Default long champions

if you look at the WWE title history you will notice wrestlers had the WWE title for long stretches of time. now theres a title change every ppv. edge already has won more world titles than Stone Cold in a much shorter time. do you think title reigns should be longer? not Bruno Sammatino length but maybe less titles and not having the same person getting many chances

Wow! WWE's creative team really has no grasp of the psychology of the business.

My brother and I were talking about this today, how the title changes hands up to 12 times a year or something, its a little stupid and makes the belt look weak, however Christian has been with his title for a while

Marking for Edge, Alex Shelly, Drew McIntyre, Chris Jericho, Chris Sabin, Mick Foley and AJ Styles.

Eric Young and Shelton Benjamin - the most under rated wrestling in the business today

I find it very peculiar that the two "top titles" of the red and blue brand, respectively, are traded around so liberally while the secondary titles, tag titles and ECW's title are allowed to stay on a champion or champions for a very healthy, extended period of time.

Too many title changes at the top with two separate belts has helped to dilute their importance. They are meaningless now. I care about the aforementioned titles much more than those. I cared about the World Title on Smackdown this summer when they built a white-hot feud around it between Punk and Hardy, but since that concluded and Punk lost the strap to Taker, I've given up. Only Jericho could restore that title for me at this point.

That's how Christian and the ECW Title got up the ladder. Currently the ECW Title looks more like something in-between the US/IC Title and the WHC/WWE Title due to its strong reign. Randy Ortons Reign up until a few months ago was also good on paper, though he almost always had to win in a dirty fashion though.

For some reason I prefer longer championship reigns on heels, with faces chasing the champions (like Triple H's 2002-2003 run, Randy Orton's 2007-2008 reign and JBL's championsip reign of 2004-2005). Lengthy face reigns kind of bore me a little bit, for some reason; I enjoyed the first couple of months of John Cena's 2005 reign but, after a while, it bored the Hell out of me. I also hated Batista's really lengthy reign in 2005.

On the whole, though, I prefer longer reigns to rubbish little short ones. Title reigns less than a month are just pointless (especially the pathetic little one or two day reigns that happen - they're crap!).
