Since in the Rock/Hogan match several people indicated that they didnt read, or werent aware of the rules, I'll repost them here so that there should be NO excuses.

RULES: PLEASE: Vote on who you thought was a better Royal Rumble winner, not on who you like more, you could take into concideration: How they qualified, How many people they eliminated, When they entered, Number of Rumble wins, Quality of their Wrestlemania match they had from winning, or even misc factors: comebacks, dedications, etc or even the quality of their time in the match, but lets please not make this a popularity contest.

Obviously there are 19 previous Royal Rumble winners, and the closest even number to an even tournament was 16, so I removed the three Royal Rumble winners I felt were most likely to lose in the first round, reguardless of their opponents, they were Jim Duggan, Big John Studd and Vince McMahon.

To help everyone with their decision, here is a side by side list of the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring winners (so you can see if they had KotR momentum) and thier entry number the year they won.

Ive done up a photoshop of tournament brackets and match images for each of the matches. I'll do a poll each day to allow everyone to vote on each match and decide the winners. I'll have each poll open for 2 days on the poll feature, and then have the thread closed and the person with the most votes advances.

Each day's poll will remain open for 2 days using the close poll feature given on the site, at the time of the polls close, I will review how many vote each superstar recieved and they will move on to the next round. I will not be counting any votes from the boards, only the votes registered in the poll. So, without further adue, Here are the updated tournament brackets.

And now for match number one of the first round of The Royal Rumble Winners: King of the Ring Tournament

With huge momentum carrying him from his King of the Ring win, and just closing off of a feud with The Big Show, Brock Lesnar had to face The Big Show AT the Royal Rumble event in 2003 in order to earn his place in the Royal Rumble match, becoming the FIRST and ONLY superstar to ever compete twice on the night of thier rumble win. He then moved on to Wrestlemania 19 and faced Kurt Angle for the WWE title in what some concider a classic match, and won.

I love Bret but a duel winner finish was horrible and it's my least favourite Rumble finish ever.

People have voted The Rock over Flair AND Hogan. The majority of people are simply voting for who their favourite is...

Edit: Gotta love these servers...

Edit 2: Bret also competed twice in one night, having one of the better WWF/E tag matches ever. Plus he wrestled the RR match selling his knee all the way, which is impressive.

I voted for Bret in the previous round because of what happened at WM10 (wrestling 2 matches). This time I've got to go for Brock for wrestling 2 matches a the Rumble, especially considering how strongly Show was booked around that time. Shame really, Bret's one of my all-time faves.

I am going with Bret Hart, and props as well on the whole idea of this thread, its obvious you put/ have put a lot of time and effort into it... its appreciated, a keen break from "What did you like most about the attitude era?" threads, normally with things spelt wrong and about two sentences in explanation of the thread, i cannot stand those. I'm just a perfectionist, he he.

I voted for bret winning because the match ending was pretty awsome and caused a lot of controversy. Brock's match was somewhat predictable but I did think Taker WAS going to win it. It was a toss up but I gave the edge to Bret.
