John Cena vs HBK @ Wrestlemania 23 - ****1/4 btw. I remember being one of the highest on this last year. Good to see the match getting some love as it deserves every bit of it.
I agree with everything you said. Still this match has nothing on Undertaker/Edge from the next year.
Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
Edge vs Taker had better storytelling and better in-ring action but didn't quite have the 'epic' feel to it like Cena vs Shawn did. Edge/Taker is the better match though. The audience was more engrossed in the Cena/Shawn encounter in my opinion.
It's always good to see a match get 'love' as it will make you think of the finer points of the match rather than the negative aspects. It's influential.
Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
I always hated before when people would bitch about Cena selling the leg. I mean he got his leg worked on for like only a couple of minutes, but some people were saying HBK worked on it like half the match. On the other hand I loved when towards the end they just started reversing each other's moves like crazy.
Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
I think HBK/Cena's storytelling and psychology was actually deeper than that of Edge/Taker. Taker/Edge was more of your traditional good guy/bad guy scenario, whereas HBK/Cena worked a lot more layers into it. For example working the veteran aspect, size differences, character contrasts etc.
Anyway can someone please wip up a list of every (or as many as you can remember) **1/2 or higher match up to take place on TV this year? I've already seen Swagger/Christian, HBK/Cena etc so don't include them. But anything else from Raw, SD!, ECW or Superstars that is at least decent would be nice.
To obtain, something of equal value must be lost..

Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
I have Cena|Shawn pretty much a whole star above Edge|Taker. Edge|Taker was horribly boring for the entire first half that I didn't feel like watching the second half anymore. Besides the first watch, I've disliked it every time. Infact, I'm (like I'm sure Mystery is) one of the biggest supporters of this match so it's no surprise in me saying that this is the greatest wrestlemania main event.
As for Shawn|Bret. I'm not saying that it wasn't good because it didn't have enough wrestling moves (suplexes). I'm saying that it was bad because it was slow as Khali. Add to this complete mess, the sub-par structure of the match and I've got myself a match I will never watch again. Believe it or not, I once had it at the four star range because I believed this had its merits but the last time I watched it (well tried to watch it), it bored me to tears. I had to rewind twice because I fell asleep.

^ There's really nothing I could recommend as TV matches have really not caught my attention so far. There's been a decent Fourway involving Jeff, Rey, Kane and Jericho on SD. I guess it could be entertaining. Edge and Jeff had an average match this week. There was also another Jericho|Jeff match on SD, that's okay too. Nothing great or even that good but they're kinda enjoyable
And if you enjoy control segments in tag matches then there was a WGTT vs. Morrison & Punk match on SD this week too. Around the two star range so that should be decent enough. Seen Backlash ? If so, thoughts ?
Forgot to add Morrison vs. Bourne on ECW after the draft. If you haven't seen it, then watch it. Could break three stars.

Great list volcanic, I'll be sure to check every match on there I haven't seen. Particularly the puro ones.
Rewatched-
Flair/Morton [Cage]- ****1/4- I enjoyed the opening parts, hated the middle (in fact I started saying "END!"), and really like the ending/closing parts, yeh.
Dusty/Flair [Cage]- ****3/4- I'm sure I'm overrating this, but not by much. So much action, I love it. Second best cage match I've ever seen.

I didn't expect it to be that fast because they were preparing themselves to wrestle 60 minutes. If I were one of the guys in the match, I wouldn't have thrown all my athleticism out stright away, otherwise I would've got exhausted during the rest of match. And if they were wrestling slowly near the end, it's because they wrestled too fast too early.
But obviously I don't expect everyone to like the same matches (etc.) I do. Just throwin' that out there.

Check out Cena vs Chris Jericho from RAW. most people have that around *** - ***1/2
anyways Edge/Taker at Wrestlemania was great but is anyone else a huge fan of their Judgment Day match aswell. I loved this match and I have it at around ***3/4 - ****.
Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
Thanks.
Swagger/Christian was greatness as expected. These two just know how to work the structure of a match and their chemistry is tremendous.
Jeff/Matt was just okay. I didn't hate it or like it. They went with a wrestling approach and slowed things down which was fine, but it didn't work to their strengths at all.
Jericho/Steamboat was simple but fluid. Steamboat gathered enough sympathy and Jericho was enough of an asshole to make this really enjoyable. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was the sort of match that two ring generals such as these two just knew how to deliver in the best way possible.
The tag was a strong match. I didn't feel all of the love it's been getting, but this made Legacy look worthwhile. The subtle storylines from the babyface team members were played off nicely and the tag structure was worked to a tee. Some sections of the match were hot and frantic, while some were pretty plain. Overall, it was a success though.
The main event was awesome. I thought Edge's performance especially was one of the best so far this year from any E performer. Cena just did what he usually does, sell really well, put over the match type and bring a lot of story to the table. Action, pacing, psychology, meaning. It was all there. It's not a classic, but it's a worthy match to showcase everything the WWE excels at when they're on track.
Overall, it was a very good event. Possibly great.

Bourne vs. Morrison is a must watch.

Yeah, once you see other hour long matches and how good they can be, you realize that the Iron Man wasn't anything special at all. I'll probably never watch it again either.
