Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
The thing that pisses me off about Orton is ever since he won the Rumble he hardly ever wrestled on Raw, just promo after promo every week. Haven't watched an episode of Raw since he had a match with MVP last month, so not sure if he has been wrestling frequently on the show.

Raw EC > SD EC . Kozlov and The Big Show really brought the entire match down for me. 5 minutes of them slowly slamming Jeff over and over again = yawn. Once The Undertaker got in there, the match picked up, and then when HHH and The Undertaker started going at it, it got even better.
A third generation of Hart wrestlers—the adolescent Dallas, Matt, T.J. and Harry, along with five-year-old Blade—pulled the mattresses in my hotel room onto the floor to turn them into wrestling mats. The sight of them with their shirts off getting all sweaty meant the world to me.

SmackDown Chamber was better. It's one of the best EC matches ever. And, much of it goes down to Hunter's performance. He bumped well, performed well, sold well, wrestled well, and made everybody look great. It was a stellar match, and is my favorite match of this year after 'Taker/Michaels from WrestleMania 25.
Re: Official Match/Show/DVD Discussion Thread - SNOWFLAKES~
The end battle in the Smackdown EC between HHH and Taker was great stuff but like Cal said Big Show and Kozlov beating down Jeff for five minutes was really boring to watch.

Sounds like they are trying to turn him into Piper, except of course Piper could actually get heat as a face worker.

Elimination Chamber - HHH Vs Taker Vs Edge Vs Hardy Vs Kozlov Vs Paul 'The Great' Wright
Interesting choice to open the Pay Per View with the WWE Championship match - although why that was is revealed later. I'll start off by saying this match was fucking awesome. Now, it was definitely the more star-studded of the two chamber matches, everyone except Kozlov in here is at least a solid worker, Taker is about as good as it gets in the WWE, Hardy can always be relied upon for some crazy spots, while Edge and Triple H are both gimmick match specialists. The first thing I loved about this match was the massive swerve with Edge, the champion, being eliminated first, and inside 4 minutes. Fucking awesome swerve (I was worried it made Edge look weak, but he made up for that later). So already we've got the unpredictability of a new champion. However, after Edge was eliminated, we did get prolonged Kozlov Vs Show brawling and double teaming on Hardy, which was pretty boring - about 5 or 6 minutes in the middle of the match were really yawnworthy. After that though the match really picked up, and another thing I liked about this match was the Big Show. He came in and literally kicked some damn ass. I marked out when he threw Triple H and Jeff Hardy straight into the chains, and then did it again. Jeff Hardy giving Show a Swantom off the Pod was the predictable 'OMG A JEFF HARDY SPOT~', but awesome at the same time. From then on, the entire finish to the match was thrilling. Taker's tombstone reversal on Hardy was the best moment of the entire match, and Triple H and Undertaker really delivered at the finish. I'm a crazy mark for finisher reversal sequence and these two pulled it off perfectly. Eventually Triple H won with a pedigree - which I wasn't too joyous over, but that doesn't take away that this was a fucking brilliant encounter. They utlisied the Chamber perfectly and it was unpredictable and dramatic through-out. One of the greatest openers ever.

Elimination Chamber - Cena Vs Knox Vs Jericho Vs Mysterio Vs Kane Vs Kofi Edge
I was sceptical going into this match for two reasons. Firstly, two Elimination Chambers in one night may be overkill, especially seeming as the first one turned out to be absolutely outstanding. Secondly, the line up didn't look fantastic - although Edge coming in dramatically improved it. However, this match was fucking INCREDIBLE. God how many swerves could they fit into the night. Edge coming in was a big shock (I thought he would cash in his re-match clause and beat Trips personally). Edge came into this match in the middle and was brilliant. He was made to look like a jobber earlier in the night - but boy did he gain it back here. Not least by eliminating John Cena. What the fuck? John Cena comes in and is eliminated in 2 minutes? Absolutely unbelievable - amazing swerve by the WWE. That was a better swerve than Edge being pinned in 5 minutes earlier. Cena didn't look weak either as it took 3 finishing maneuvers to put him away. Glad they took Kofi out as well, no way does he deserve in on a match of this calibre. There was also a shining light in this match - Rey Mysterio. What an outstanding individual performance by Rey - probably the best solo display by anyone in an Elimination Chamber i've ever seen. This really was on the edge of your seat stuff, seems like Vince literally stuck his middle finger up at all the smarks - I mean having both titles change hand at No Way Out? Who would have predicted that? They really turned what is essentially a filler PPV into something special - and this match epitomized it. The Rey/Edge sequence at the end was brilliant. When Rey rolled up Edge, I even thought he would have the win. I'm going to ignore the fact that it made no sense to have Edge in the match - because i'm sure that will be explained at a later date - and i'm also going to ignore the likelihood of a HHH/Orton match at Mania which will be dreadful - because who knows what will happen here. Having Jericho, Rey and Edge finishing the match was a tremendous idea - Cena didn't even make the final three! I couldn't believe it. The action itself in the match was phenomenal - Rey showcased what he could do and had great sequences and chemistry with pretty much everyone in the match, especially Jericho and Edge at the end. I'm so glad they gave him such a great showing. This match sums up why I like wrestling in the first place - it was dramatic, exciting, gripping, - and most importantly, had brilliant in ring action while at the same time maintaining a level of unpredictability. Outstanding stuff. Match of the Night. Hell, Match of the Year.
